could somebody please briefly tell me what can i do with ps2 usb slot other than saving pic in gt4?

- transfer savegame memory card <---> pendrive using software such as codebreaker @ armax.

- update cheat code list (codebreaker @ armax) using pendrive.

- run homebrew softwares such as hdloader, ulaunchelf, sms player and many more...

- put ur mp3, avi, jpeg and view it on ur ps2.

- use external/usb HDD with usbadvance @ usbextreme.

- use usb keyboard/mouse on supported games.

Extra software to play it from CD/Pendrive. Search for SMS Player. With extra modding u can play it from HDD/LAN(from ur PC).

Found that sms player. but it said i need to have my ps2 to be able to read elf files. does this mean i have to mod my ps2?

since i my ps2 is already mod when i buy it. but dont know what mod chip they use. i think it is the old one.

Every PS2 can run elf files. Of course u need a modded PS2 to read burned CDs/DVDs(theres other way with unmodded PS2).

Just burn the software onto a CD and run it on PS2.

if your modchip is old i think your chip don't have dev 1 or dev2.
you can use lakum method (i like & use this method)
if you have trouble to make elf to cd

This is better. By using uLaunchELF CD (after making it lah) u later can run other elf from pendrive.

If u found uLaunchELF in ISO format...just burn it. But if in elf format....use the above method to burn it to the CD. Later just put SMS Player elf on pendrive and run it with uLaunchELF.

bro lakum, since this is a playstation tech talk and u already tired of repeating same answers for everyone, why not create one topic and stick it.. inside, we only discuss on running softwares, hdd mods, or something better.. hehe.. just my 1 cents.. but anyway, i'm really interested in the mods..
and..what version ulaunchelf do you use? i found so many version and confused which to download..

don't worry, I'm still using the old version and it still works fine.

Ya..same with me. I'm using 3.87. The latest now is 4.06(for now..i think). Last time i update to 4.01 if not mistaken...but has something wrong in HDD management in that version. So i switch back to 3.87 untill now.

About creating a topic...i think just let someone else with more experience lah. Like bro greyfox or mr tot31 there....
