I lost faith on China related fund. After hands got burnt, I shift my focus on other regional funds.

The growth in emerging markets and BRIC are slowing. It's not mystical call as for now!

yeap exactly, i'm already bearish from the start of the year, telling myself that eurozone issue will eventually hit just a matter time. that's why i only focus on local market , of which i've already converted the equity gains to bonds went the world's sentiment was high flying

no ler bro, not master, i aso learnt tru the hard way. actually i only started reading up seriously on investing earlier 2011, which i blindly bought local shares when index was high (around march), and only to see it paper loss terribly @ sept. it actually took me around 2months to settle in with the 'loss' and i bought some @ that time too, and when past 2-3months when index was high, i sold off some for gains. for UT, i'm 90% bond, except for Psmallcap (bought march 2011) and it's still at 20% paper loss. oh well, i had a fair share of lessons too. Personally, i'm not 'ready' for BRIC/emerging markets exposition, though i was tempted to enter early this year when the sentiment was good

nola bro, i read up financials everyday, and u hav to be on top of the 'game' all the while. when world's indexes have reached a level high , there's always a pull back. and if u know the greece election is coming months earlier, it's time to lock in for gains. i did read some inspirational books from ben graham, to name a few, and i'm glad i've learnt to overcome the investing emotions. as the saying goes, ' be fearful when ppl are greedy, be greedy when ppl are fearful'. investing in stocks is mainly a no brainer, just time your entry and bang in, averaging down as it goes. it's just a cyclical movement, even having to wait a few years for the valley

China's prices fell like stone already, near 2008-2009 NAVs and indices, maybe that's why they are overweight on China-related funds.
Buy low, sell high gua

The local "current low" is only about 4%+/- drop from last KLCI highest of high (hit earlier this year 1600++).

So, low meh?
Last Aug-Oct plunge due to Euro scare was about 15%+/- drop from the highest then KLCI (15XX++ if i'm not mistaken - too lazy to check but i remember the % drop).

Even the 2011 Euro scare is nothing VS so called "market correction" expected of 20%+/-, not PLUNGE like 1997/1998 (80%+) and 2008/2009 1st qtr (40%+/-) yar.

Thus, how low is low? heheh.
Ohm... ohm..

not sure really, with the current sentiments, greek and possibly italy, spain etc, it doesn't look too good. just a matter of time abandoning the mission of saving the sinking ships

I'd like to ask, is buying funds online easy for PM? Since I am currently using SI to automate the process, I do not know of the online procedure.

How do you derive existing or new account?

I have one fund with UTC A and another fund with UTC B. Are these considered existing account?

Yup, you're right.
But er.. just a thought ar... even if "no agent" is selected when U invest online via Public Bank or Public Mutual Online, U still bleed 5.5% for equity funds and 0.25% for bond funds.
Thus, why bother with having different "agents" / "no agents"?

In addition, pls keep in mind:
Equity A under Agent 001 CANNOT BE SWITCHED to Equity B or Bond B under Agent 002.
Thus far lar from my experience - i've like 2 accounts from different agents. The rest all under self heheh.

Just a thought notworthy.gif

Hi there.

May I know the difference between Public series of funds and PB series of funds?

I plan to invest in PB Growth Fund (PBGF). Is it a good idea?
