QUOTE(bariho @ Jan 8 2012, 10:39 PM) i want to ask..hope u all can give a respon.. if you google you will find out that plants need "dark" to grow and "light" to gain energy...i have hc,glosso and hg.. I planted the plants by dry step method (emersed right??) the question is how long i must keep the lights on?? if i on the light 15 or 17 hour can?? its okay or what?? have any effect?? just follow the biological clock of most leaving creature... 11 hour light and 13 hour dark... ohh... plants grow using "bluish" cool light 5500k-8000k... and blooms using "reddish" worm light 3000k-4500k... I feel that all the extra features in 2028 is not a necessity but a luxury, so no need. If you want better, I would go for the ecco series, more quiet and easier to clean. My friend got tetra, it looks cool, but not as durable as eheim. He just change his Ex120 to eheim 2217 few months ago when there was promotion. Fluval, no spare parts. Dolpin, if tight on budget, but once got money or promotion, I'll change to eheim... EHEIM FOREVER!!! |

QUOTE(z8net @ Jan 9 2012, 09:18 AM) There is 2 sides to this, 1 side says mild filtration is enough and it only functions to give some flow to the water. Another says you can never have enough filtration, as long as it doesn't up root the plants. So thats why some will say 2213 for a 2 ft while some says 2215 for a 2ft tank. Its all up to personal preference. I've tried 2213 for a 2ft and also 2213+2232 for a 2ft, not much difference really. |

whitish cloudy.
i raed some articles that it was bacteria bloom when first starting tank. but this tank already few months old. it does not have this problem when i first started it. this condition started last month. until now, i had put almost 10scoops of bacter100, change water 10%-20% weekly. After checked no more tannins, only put back into your aquarium.current aquarium water change 30% every few days, until the water clear. |

I went to a few light shop, their 2ft 840 only 14w each. can use ah? If t5ho, I would recommend using Giesemann Midday (rated 5600k) bulb. I have been using it for over a year and the growth is excellent. You won't get yellowish spectrum even it is rated at 5600k. According to Giesemann, it is supposed to mimic midday sunlight. Price is rather expensive but you get what you paid for. Made in German.or need to get 24w and 6500K. Very difficult to find in light shop. Any lubang? what is the average price for each?
