Wait for few days it will settle by itself, most probably bacteria boom due to the new media, and the bacter ball is working... And don't add too many fish too fast.

My advice is never use chemical algae remover/killer, it'll kill some species of flora, and you won't even know it until they start dying. Find the cause and treat the source, if not you'll be facing this problem over and over again. Normally chemical algae remover only for fish only tank.

no need chemical stuff in our tank, just let it be nature.. plant is a very good filtering system in our tank, no need change water so offer. i didnt change my water almost 9 months, just add water when water dry up.

the more stuff you add in the more trouble you facing.

regarding to activated carbon pad, should i install together with other media or take it off from the filter container?

Since your tank is a established one, IMO there is no need for the carbon pad. As normally in planted tank we only require it during the initial set up when there is nitrate and ammonia surge.

perhaps next time if u want to use new filter or backwash spare ur tank water,
add in the water ti the new filter

but of cos use the healthy tank water

another 1 noob question, can we use filtered or RO water for our tank as my tap water supply was so bad condition..so rusty and brownish...

read the pressure of your regulator, if the reading is about 500psi, i think it still be good... my 3kg tank served me for 2 years, 1bps 10hrs per day...

psi is the 25, 50 scale rite?

is like 35 now....
