QUOTE(rigmortis @ Sep 15 2011, 05:19 PM) Funny thing is that if you are buying a Honda City or similar car, you already paid around 25K - 30K extra. It means that you pay at least 8 years worth of petrol (even at RM3.XX) in advance to your beloved government. But at the end of the day, you still need to pay another RM1.90/L for some reasons I am still trying to find out. Bro, I'm driving Insight and not City |

QUOTE(sbanboy @ Sep 15 2011, 05:24 PM) Very near liow .... I can do it !!! Mileage at 8300 km... I usually drive at the speed limit..... This is what I use to keep my car fresh and keeps me awake and refreshed .... the Medklinn Autosens Got my trophy @ 7800 km months ago...but didnt manage to capture. It just pop out of the blue. I remember joshua bro got his trophy also around 7500 km. You can choose to reset them, but didnt bother to do it. Nice stuff medklinn! Have one at home, but not for car interior. Definitely helps, especially I'm a sinus guy Just to share my FC observed for the past 6 months: Previous service - 10km Next service - 15km Trip detail to work - 45km one way (from Port Klang to Mutiara Damansara). Use NKVE, exit @ Subang Interchange. So averagely is 40% highway, 60% city (I dun consider LDP as highway btw) FC with ECON - 20-21 km/l FC without ECON - 18-19 km/l All of this are observed between home and working place. I'm driving normally like my previous ride (1.5, manual) albeit more manipulation of momentum & medium throttle to 70-90km/h from idle, so I'm mostly in blue and dark blue zone from 0-70 (I dun crawl like snail and maintain green zone). Average speed on highway is 110-120km/h. Occasional WOT to 4k rpm for overtaking. (5k rpm with S mode). So in summary, the FC largely depends on the right foot, type of journey covered and momentum manipulation. Oh yea, please monitor your RPM as well, it helps. Sometimes highway also can experience stop and go traffic ( One thing worth to take note of our Insight RPM: 100km/h - 2000 rpm 125km/h - 2500 rpm So it is still fuel-efficient to maintain speeds between 100km/h to 120km/h. Even myvi and vios can only reach 80km/h @ 2000 rpm (also observed from my sisters' cars) |

QUOTE(calvin_ng @ Sep 16 2011, 08:17 AM) Bro... Erm, I am quite sure the Swift CBU Japan is sold at 70+K after discount while they were still in sold here. My bro got one after some negotiation. Actual should be 80+K if not mistaken; it was somewhat new at that time and not selling well. Nowadays, the CKD should be selling at a little over 70K. Not sure what is the discount offered. I remember the price difference is 10K between CBU Japan and CKD.Find me a made in japan car for rm99k then we talk A city is a whole different car... People who buy insight wanted to do their part on saving energy and fuel also this car is handsome :-) But in the US market, the Swift is consistently rated as one of the most unreliable car. I am not sure where US version of Swift is sourced from. Anyhow, the handling is superb and the steering is telepathic with loads of feedback. Just found out that CBU JApan SX4 sells below 85K too. I always thought the current City shares the same chassis as Insight. Maybe I am wrong, but when I drive my brother's City (the current one), it slides and understeers crazily when cornering exactly like the Insight. Some part of the interior is shared too. IIRC the Honda Insight chasis is derived from the latest Honda Jazz/Fit
the front looks very similar to Honda Jazz |

QUOTE(chizzu @ Sep 16 2011, 01:36 PM) IIRC the Honda Insight chasis is derived from the latest Honda Jazz/Fit Well, then City shares this chassis too. It is written at the top. In fact, all 3 has similar looking front. the front looks very similar to Honda Jazz The 1st gen of City in Malaysia is in fact a Jazz that has its butt forcefully stretched to produce a sedan (in order to sell in Malaysia). Explains why it looks so ugly. Jazz is very similar to a City; engine, chassis, steering, electronics and much more. Some were carried over to the Insight,CR-Z and Freed it seems. hm,..lets put it this way.
Insight is a Hybrid Car. City is a normal car. So, do not compare hybrid with normal car. 1 thing I can say, I drive insight like a normal car like how I used to drive my previous car, drive hard, fast, slow, jam, and dun care about green light or blue light or purple light from the dash meter and ECON OFF ALL THE TIME. Insight full tank is 40liter. Every time when the warning fuel low indicator lid up, I pump full tank around 33 or 35 liter. With this number insight can get 550km with my driving style. My previous car full tank is 42 liter. When pump is around 38 to 40 liter. and I can only get 490 to 500Km. so what is there to complain??? |

QUOTE(junjunjun @ Sep 16 2011, 08:03 PM) A new facelift insight is coming soon on 2012........ they did change a bit on it for the front grill and spec find out more on http://myevercarmart.com/articles/view/39/...ew-at-frankfurt Quite subliminal FL. Lets see if HM will impose a surcharge. Some peoples from European countries might rejoice at the fact that carbon dioxide emissions is reduced down to 96g/km. The current stands at 101g/km, just above the 100g/km mark that would exempt it from certain taxes. |

QUOTE(rigmortis @ Sep 16 2011, 09:42 PM) 7th Oct. Very likely will continue for 2012 as P EV will be only ready for market by 2013. You have a few more weeks to stock up on ciggies, alcohol (no offense), insights and priuses? Oh not to forget petrol too... I hope the GST gets implemented if it can truly reduce the PCB. Anyway, we will find out soon. |
