lol..everybody here talked about SGP, Otterbox, Casemate..

Me here very comfortable using Belkin Grip Graphix..mainly because I hate hard case and kinda dislike usual silicone case, claimed to be anti slip but it is...so I search for Belkin. And surprisingly I found it here in Malaysia as I know it is quite hard to find one. Try SenQ if you want one..bought mine at Queensbay Mall.

Same like girl. When young and cute, no need makeup.
When old and kedut2 only then put makeup for cover it.

Hi everyone, I got my s2 for almost 1 month now. Some time the heat really went up a lot at top of the screen where the SAMSUNG word printed. when the heat rise, battery consumption is faster then normal. After I restart, then it will be back to normal. If whn the heat rise and I was charging, seen like having some difficulty to load the charge (20 min only up 3%). But once I restart the phone, then the charging will be faster.

Do you guy having this problem? For those who never have this problem, can you let me know which firware your are using? btw, what is the different between firmware for indonesia, singapore, china and so on? Language different?

Appreciated for your feedback, sharing & advise.

What are doing when the temperatures rising? It cant be rising all the sudden while it's on idle. And how high is the temperatures? I'm on test right now for four hours non-stop already with my phone screen ON and phone charger also ON. My temperatures now is 46C :-P
My firmware XXKG1.

Added on August 23, 2011, 2:14 am08pm - 02am. 6 hours non-stop. Both cores scores 252.
Temperatures up to 50C now. Yay., so far so good :-P

End of Stability Test Ver2.1 (08pm - 06am @ non-stop)
Both cores result is 425 runs at temperatures of 54°C.
RAM successful runs result is 4850.
Unfortunately when i tried to take a screenshot, i wrongly press back button and that make it close the app :-(
Though i failed to achieve the 60°C target, it still show that our beloved SGSII CAN run smoothly at temperature 54°C.
So there's NOTHING to be worried* if your phone reach 54°C while you using it.
* (That is IF your phone is in a good working condition on the first place :-P)
Members can check full result at page 24 post # 479

i've just sold sgs2. it's a good phone, perhaps the best android out there. but the update cycles for android software is too fast making me crazy.
cannot afford to flash or update every 2 or 3 days.
perhaps many like it this way bcos bugs get ironed out, but in the process sometimes more new bugs are introduced.

my next phone? better don't mention here.

have fun guys. this has been one of the best supported thread available locally.
*
~~ duhh ~~
You sold your phone just because you can't coup up with all the updates? And why did you follow all this flasher that keep on flasing all the test built firmware, in the first place?
The truth is there is not much different between all this firmware updates. So there is no need for you to flash it.
Just sit tight and wait for the official release from Samsung itself to us. And for official firmware means nearly no bugs at all.!! Futhermore Samsung OTA is nearly finished its testing stage. So you can receive your update much much easier :-P
Hmm., what's done is done. Hope you'll find happiness in using your next new phone

do nothing when the heat rise, even sometime suddenly feel my pocket getting warm & i was do nothing at the moment. not really know what is the temperature, but for sure for the heat it is abnormal when the heat rise, dont even can make a call due to the heat.
*
I asked whether you still on stock rom OR custom rom now.? Not whether you're rooted or not..:-P.
The reason i ask is because
1) Some custom rom can make your phone rebooting out of nothing at all if you flash the wrong way (dont be suprise)
2) Some custom rom have bug that keep certain apps force closed. If this app keep on opening and closing then your phone will start feel warm and rebooting.

If you only root but still on stock rom then i suggest
1) you start looking which app/files that can interupt your phone system.
2) Or you in any way had wrongly uninstall certain important phone system app can also lead to this problem.
3) Try to change your telco sim card and see if this problem recur.
4) If you had any casing on your phone, try not use it. Some casing especially the one that cover your on/off button can cause it.
5) Do hard/factory reset.
6) Bring your phone to service centre for checkup.

From samfirmare XXKG1 is europe version rite? will it able to read chinese word?
*
XXKG is europe version but no chinese language. (got one that look like chinese but i think it's kind of japanese or some sort)
You can try download Google PinYin from market OR flash Hong Kong (not China.!!) firmware to get chinese language.

Really torn between the SGP Neo Hybrid Case and the Case-Mate Tough case....one is sleek....the other is rugged and safe...

Incidentally, the video advert for the Case-mate Tough case is quite funny.

Better list on US or euro currency. We still had to convert the price when actually buying something that listed in RM :-)

Just when i'm about to relax by listening some music from the phone then ohh crapp...
I almost forgot how much crap full of bull is the sound from our beloved SGSII. It is the most glaring handicap feature that our phone had. :-(
It's a shame really, considering SGSII is the most complete Android phone at this very moment. With such a glorious big super crisp screen, gorgeous slim body and competent dual cores processor but when it comes to sound department, its such a letdown. ~~ mehh ~~
The sound are worse than my Galaxy Tab and please don't even compare it with SGS.
IF only the sound can be better then the SGSII will trully be 'da dream phone' of the universe.!!
Just saying

It doesn't matter which firmware you use. Your phone will still release heat as long as you use it. No firmware can make your phone 'cold'. ~~ duhh ~~
P/S - Yes any firmware is okay to be flash except China one.

but are you sure the heat rise suddenly / during idle is normal? i think more then 50C, somemore when the heat rise, i cant even make a call, it was too hot to put near my ear...
*
No its not normal for your phone to have 50C while in idle.
Normal phone temperatures while idle is below 30C. For charging it go up to 35C while playing games can go above 40C. And your phone can sustain around 50C without problems.
But having 50C while idle.? Better bring your phone to service centre for checkup. No need to flash anything :-P

Up to you my friend. The phone is yours to do whatever you like as you wish. It seems you have set your mind on flashing already so there is no point to prolong this issue.
Good luck in your flashing :-)

Im not sure, but Digi will give you a new sim card after Maxis terminated the line.
So it depends on the old Maxis sim card is still usable or not..

Although the old sim can't be use to make call, all the contact and msg that reside inside can still be transferred out :-)
