morning @@ finally the sleeping beauty is wake up already :-/

So your wifi really drain your batt till its totally dried uhh.?
That's weird coz i thought wifi not using as much juice as in your case. It should be quite the same as per letting your data signal on for the whole day.
Found the real cause already?

i ever on my wifi overnight..never drain until finish battery..only drain like 20-30% due to auto sync email,contact,fb...this stuff

*
Yes it shoud behave as per you stated. That's why i ask fallenangelz if he found the real culprit coz i dont think wifi will drain batt juice that much for 7-8 hours. Unless he do some real surfing. Even then it must be non-stop surfing as i had test before, our original batt can tahan around 5-6 hours for non-stop surfing :-)

1 thing I experience.

when browsing internet using wifi the S2 really really very hot.

especially the camera part. it is normal for everyone?

if it is normal, can the phone sustain that hot?

TQ
*
Yes it's normal as our SGSII is thin and slim so we can feel the heat permeate through the casing. How high is your temperature? If below 50C then it's only considered warm not hot. I once run mine at 58C non-stop for one full hour.!! I think SGSII can sustain continuous state of 50C without problem.

QUOTE(Pogostik @ Aug 21 2011, 12:23 AM)
Just got my SGS II a couple of days ago. And just now, when playing game (Gun Rummy), the phone became hot, especially the back camera. I stopped playing the game and the temperature is normal again.

I had BatteryLife widget installed, but I didn't set to show the temperature  doh.gif
*
Playing games will surely rise your phone temperature. Anything below 50C is normal. Nothing to worry about :-)

~~lol~~ good one.!
But how to fry when the heat cant even make halfboiled

QUOTE(WSL999 @ Aug 21 2011, 09:54 AM)
Is the back cover flimsy? The build quality is ok and it's light! Cannot really feel it when put in the pocket.
*
Flimsy.? Only when you take it out :-)
But the back cover is made from really tough plastic. And flexible somemore. Once i saw in youtube (cant remember the link) about how tough and flexible our back cover is. It can be bend from one end to the other end. But i never try it though :-P

just installl the baterylife widget like Uncle Benny mention and find out the phone is at 34C when browsing internet with wifi for half an hour.

TQ
*
~~ duhh ~~ Only 34C..??
And yet you said before.., really, really, very hot :-P
Don't worry. If nothing wrong with your phone, most probably it will go freeze and auto shutdown before the overheat can do any boiling or frying either to the eggs or to the phone itself ~~ lol ~~

good to know you loved it.

my biggest turn off is the camera function that is greatly reduced on cm7. i dont know whether they fixed it already or not. that's why i flashed back to villain
*
CM7 is still on nightly so it's understandable a few things still not working. Once it achieve RC status then you can try it and so do everyone else. Surely the best AOSP ever

Yes., and more detail in the additional info will be very much welcome. Some newbies can't even differentiate between kernel and roms. To add the confusion., some kernel is not quite compatible with certain rom :-)

I am not using the phone, just let it charge. The bb charger also 0.7A. Another weird thing happen is that with the ori charger after i disconnect charger, the phone still hot and within 30 minutes it drops from 50% to 25% with no active applications running in the background.
*
I think you got a defected charger. Ori charger normally take around 4 - 6 hours to make full 0-100% battery charge (USB 6 - 8 hours) with temperature below 45°C. Anything longer or above than that for normal charging (no gaming or surfing), better change or bring for checkup

Guys,
I'll try to run a test running my phone for 10 hrs non-stop hoping it can reach 60C for atleast 3 hours straight. Then we'll see whether our phone is capable or not sustaining that temperature. Either the phone system crash first and shutdown OR something inside will fried ~~ lol ~~
Test start at 8.00pm - 6.00am.
Keep fingers crossed :-P

Hi guys.. I'm new to samsung galaxy s2. i want to send long text messages and the phone will auto convert my text messages to multimedia messages (after 480 characters). Is there any way i can disable the auto convert? Any previous thread for me check to solve this problem?
icon_question.gif

Nope. On stock rom nothing can be done. It will auto convert after 4 sms to mms. Only rooted can solve this auto convert.

Guys my s2 takes a few second to go homescreen after the button is clicked when in a game or program. Is it normal?
*
Yes it's normal as the phone system had to pause you game or program first before it went to homescreen.
BTW., anybody on stock rom receive any firmware updates? I heard DX firmware release already
