My S2 sometimes the internet connection seems not to be responding. Mostly in my office I can see the H of 3G symbol however I'm unable to open any webpage. I need to deactivate data and activated it again in order to browse the web again.

Is it a firmware issue? someone who encounter this before can share a tip to fix this
*
You can try disable fast dornancy by dialling *#9900# and see whether it improve your data connection

doing this will effect anything? I mean other than improving data connection?
*
No, i don't think so. You can always enable it back by dialling the same *#9900# in any case.
But for me at my area it change nothing whether the fast dormancy is disable or enable. You can get more info about this at xda-dev

is there any software that can make the phone less hot?
*
Don't play any games and make sure the phone screen always off ~~ lol~~

** Note : Your phone can sustain temperatures up to 50C continously without any problem. You can refer this at page 24 #post 479 and page 28 #post 547 :-)

Nothing much on CSC apart from APN settings. You can manually configured it, and if your SIM card has the info you do not need to do anything at all.

+ 1 Good answer :-)

QUOTE(PhantomThief @ Aug 26 2011, 11:25 AM)
Thanks for the quick response guys, I appreciate it smile.gif

It's been a bit of a bumpy ride since I switched over to the "dark side" (used to have an iPhone tongue.gif) but hopefully this firmware update will get rid of the annoying battery problems.
*
What happen to your battery? Not lasting.?
Try disable all auto scroll widgets setting from your phone screen. Also all auto updates for apps. Do it manually and you might get around 18 - 24 hrs on stock rom. Also careful with your apps. Some roque app might use a lot of battery.
**Note : Screen display, browsing and gaming is your main battery juice eater.!!

That's odd since you didn't have sim on your display option. Try import/export > import from sim card (transfering all your contact from sim to phone)

Import contact from sim to phone won't delete your original contact number in the sim. You still can use your sim contact :-)

your stock kernal is which version?
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.l...abs.planb&hl=en
good luck
this app and also samsung's quite troublesome, first your phone and sim must not have protection, both samsung dive and plan b requires active internet connection and gps to track, your phone locked, thief cant use phone, internet cant on, how to track? doh.gif Second the thief must have the phone on and also dont know how to flash smile.gif
*
I think can report to Samsung so they can lock the phone based on imei no. And it will become another expensive paperweight :-)

QUOTE(botakz @ Aug 26 2011, 01:13 PM)
yes, that's what i did now.
if i add contact to phone and change the sim to other phone, i'll not able to see the contact dy  cry.gif
*
Before you take out your sim card, you can always export all the new added contact from the phone back to your sim card.
BTW, i wonder if this sim card display option is only on Android 2.3.4.?? Anybody still on original stock firware can confirm it? I'm on KG1 already :-(

Below is my lovely wifi gemlins screenshot

*sigh*

sad to know i'm heavy user... as though i m addicted to phone. lol...

19+hrs with 65% left is impressive.

To tell the truth, my style of using this phone is quite erratic. At times when i got mood, i use this phone non-stop until batt dried after 6 hours. Sometime i just let it sit idle with only a little call and sms only then my batt can go nearly 5 days ~~ sigh~~
You can call me an erratic user ~~ lol ~~

No matter, you answer above already. So to all who ask about sim display, the answer is not visible on Android 2.3.3 but visible on 2.3.4
