Using it.

This is my take: CM7 = MIUI > Sensation

Honestly it is great. Loving it. Yes it is nightly and cm7 is auto released every day. However it is good and pretty amazing.

Go ahead. You will not be disappointed.

Bugs? Not many. Normally same with the rest of the custom roms. If you see it, CM7 and MIUI is not the same with any other custom roms. They are build for less samsung-ness.

I don't know why many people having issue with both but happened to me so seldom.
*
Once you are on CM7, you will get addicted , similar to drugs. You will be non-stopping flashing . if you don't, you will suffer the withdrawal symtoms and it will kill you !!!. So be warned before you attempt.

I have already rooted my phone using Super One Click so i can skip this step right?
*
You dont understand difference between root and recovery. do read page 1 post5 to understand.
Dont do blindly without even knowing A is for apple not ball
He is telling you how to flash using recovery in this case using chainfire root cf4
This has nothjng related to SOC which Only root the phone
If you dont have recovery install than install chainfire cf4 first. It will auto root phone too n is ok

hahaha....for real?can't imagine watching such crap translation in cinema laugh.gif

Watch on Astro Disney " Princess and the Frog". There was this prince who said " I am broke ( MEANING "no more money" ) " and the Malay subtitle was " I sudah pokai" - unbelievable but true . A clear example the editors are also sleeping on his job allowing such translation to go thro. And this word "pokai" repeated several times everytime the prince mention he is broke
Maybe this is 1Malaysia Bahasa already

Any one got the problem for Usb Host?

i just received my USB OTG after flash the rom to Lite'ning Rom V6.1 XXKH3,when i plug the USB OTG the notifications show the USB icon with USB icon and it show "send".

after i plug in my pendrive(All is using Fat32 type) and i go inside check the Folder "UsbStorage"is nothing inside.
*
It is NOT usb storage - the pendrive is nested under SD card - browse the folders under sd card and you will see it : refer page 1 post #8 on accessory ( connecting thumb drive to phone) I have shown a screenshot of where is the folder

Yellowish tint on screen ??? One dead pixel on screen ?
If you are not happy, just go to service center and ask for screen replacement or whatever they can do
But there are too many " horror" stories already - solving A gives rise to problem B and maybe C. So is your choice
I'd say what is important is in your daily usage, does this " defect" bother you - do you see it obviously when you are using the phone
If it really biothers you, then just go and claim , PERIOD . Stop whining about it
I'd say DO NOT go and fix something unless you have to go to special display modes to see this " defect"
This is what I called making a mountain out of a molehill

In my buying of all smartphones till now, I never even bother to go to this , I say "microscopic" level to check such stuffs . Some users has in the last few threads go to great level of describing how to see such a defect , viewing it at certain anglers and at certain light conditions , bla , bla, bla
What is important to me, the display should just look nice and clear. Damn it if there is a slight dead pixel - I am not going to waste my energy and time and get frustrated over it. Even the great Apple ipad 2 has so many cases of screen bleeding and yet it sells by millions

Another popular rant is the pinkish spot in camera mode - this again is user assessment of its importance. If camera features is important to you - go and claim a replacement or scour the xda forums for software patches or wait for patch by Samsung. You can try all the latest roms that claim will reduce/eliminate it. Or just go to service center and ask for a replacement unit

Since we're on the story of battery duration per charge, how well is it working for you guys?
I'm on wifi since 7am with constant smsing and whatsapping.

On 75% now. Didn't flash anything new since acquiring the phone yesterday.
Just turned off the auto sync + Screen brightness to the bare minimum which, IMO is still pretty bright

=)
*
This is good. Only if you browse /youtubes/gaming the battery will take a big dip. Normal usage just as a phone will not - easily can last you a whole 14-15 hours just on that

It drains bettery quite fast.. full charge only last me less than 5 Hrs.

This rom is running 1.6GHz?
Any way to fix it? Anxious now...
*
Use setcpu and scale it down to 1.2
Battery life is good - easily last me a working day from 7 am till 5 pm with 3G always on, email-rss-newsfeed actively refreshing every 60 mins; weather updates every 4 hours, browsing about 2-3 hours, few calls n sms, NO games. I am using XXKG3 baseband, Speedfrey 2.1 kernel

Hm.. so between celcom and digi, which one would you suggest to me  icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Ask 10 person, you will get 4 answrrs - celcom, digi, maxis, u mobile
You should decide yourself
This depends on location and places you usually go
Buy prepaid card first ( only less than RM 10 ) and test out than decide is best way

i did call digi centre and ask them about the "unlimited internet usage". They say I can just left my phone with the internet on for 24 hours and they wont be any charge for extra usage. How true is this this? Because in their website it says only 3GB.

celcom on the other hand will charge extra if I exceed the limited data plan.
*
Costs of data plan - Digi is cheapest.Beyond 3 GB, throttle down to 128kbps

I dunwana sound excessively demanding but how buggy is da current firmware/stock rom?

Flashing custom roms ( i choose to avoid this ) would the last thing in my list if i were to get this device.
*
Stock rom is NOT buggy as far as I can see. You start reading about bugs when users flash their rom to custom roms, which offers better performance, less bloatware, gets batter battery usage, etc. And in the process encounter some bugs here and there - depend on one needs, the bugs are either unimportant, non-critical. Guys who want to flash roms just want to get extra mileage. You can always stick to stock roms, and if you don't like some of Samsung's bloatware apps, root it and use Titanium Backup to freeze it ( hide it ) - it will not appear and it will not be auto launch

agree. i recall a few weeks back, there was a video by this guy from BGR about why Android don't need Task Killers... everyone should watch it.

and remember:
* Android OS is smart enough to manage your phone RAM/ memory
* RAM is meant to be used... What is the point of having 1GB RAM when you are trying to only limit the phone to using 10% of it? the other 90% keep for what?!?
*
Yes, do also read page 1 FAQ where I have listed WHY WE DO NOT NEED TASK KILLERS
