Never put hedgehog of opposite sex together unless you are ready to have its babies.

i have mine shorter time than you. im not experience myself. i just read here and there.
as you know, hedgehog are solitary animals, so i dont think it'll be a problem if they are alone. having its owner and comfortable home suffice.
you should spend some time going through the threads, and then ask yourself are you really really prepared to have its babies?

read if you have the time

u can either DIY buy medicine for hog at pet shops (pls dont save cost for this, go high quality pet shops to buy to avoid scam), mix the medicine water with warm water and dip hedgehog inside, let it swim for awhile, repeat a few days and wait for results.

OR str8 bring to vet.

OR false alarm, u confirm is mites? any signs, scratching itself always is not a sign.

if thats the case, if confident to save vet fees then can DIY, if not confident better go vet to clear off, again dont save cost on vets. hogs are sensitive animals who need rather good handling and care, low quality vets might just accidentally blind your hog with the medicine, not sayin' that they're bad but prevention is better than cure
