c the ear, is it sum sort of fungal infection? o bacteria o juz dry skin????

The dry skin on the ears can also be caused by mosquito bites, it'll get worst when the hedgie scratches it.. To cure the dry skin, you can apply some baby oil.. To prevent the mosquito bites, you can put some lemon grass sticks (batang serai) in the cage - the hedgie will bite it and self-annoite all over himself & this will act as mosquito repellent.

Now i need to convince my parents to let me keep one. They think that having a hedgehog in the house will cause mites,
cancer, respiratory problems etc etc.

Problem of mites may appear if u don't keep ur hedgie clean - Solution, give ur hedgie a bath once a month
Respiratory problem can be caused by the bedding or the hedgies dander (especially if ur asthmatic) - Solution, use newspaper as bedding & bath hedgie
But
CANCER!??? How did ur parents came to this conclusion???
