Hi there, what do you mean by cooling plate? Is it necessary for a hamster? Mine is Syrian. And still new, not even one week with him.

We still unfamiliar with each other, yet. Huh... how sad... break my heart.

Aww.. dun be sad.. take some time with your hammy even new friend need some time to be close rite? Let me share some of my tips with you. When i 1st brought my robo v oso unfamiliar with each others too.. beside he kept on running from me when ever i catch him. Let him familiar with his cage surroundings 1st then slowly slowly held him & let him familiar with your hands & smells but make sure to wash your hands if you handle foods before so he wont mistake it as a foods & bite your hands.

FIY, i very seldom give my hammy sunflower seeds cos it's very unhealthy for hammy. I usually give him once every week only so normally i'll crack the shells for him put it in my palm & slowly slowly put it infront of him. Once he smells it automatically he'll jump right to my palm & start eat it or you just hold the seeds & he'll straight away eat it at your hands. When i got free time i'll chat with my hammy too.. by that way it can let your hammy get used to your voice & smells. Sometime do play with him by catching him at your hands & just play play with him but dun play with him straight after he wake up it might piss him off. I normally help my hammy massage massage his back & he luv it very much.. Hahaha.. So just give some time for your hammy once he feel more confident i sure he will stick 2 u.. Just like my hammyi can easily catch him now lo =)

Ohh.. Tat cooling plate is an aluminum plate for hamster. It's work as a cooling bedding for hammy especially if your room got air-cond the cooling plate would be goody for hammy especially in this hot weather.. But even your room doesnt have air-cond oso the cooling plate still will feel bit cold for hammy.. My hammy love 2 sleep on it as it give cooling effect during evening for him.. Haha.. Erm it's not necessary for a hamster but i wan my hammy to sleep more comfortable oli.. Haha.. beside my cooling plate look like this :-

help! My white today i saw one of her nipple are blackish green!! Like quite big. The other one also a bit blackish green.. Omg i scare its fungus . Scare baby will get harm if it drink

Yup.. That's hand-make cage.. Umm actually it just a carton box.. I though of buying cage for him but then cage have a limited space although it got few level with tube attached with it. So i take a carton box & customise it abit to become his cage.. Umm its not as nice as those fancy cage but at least it's open air & more open space for him to run here & there.. Haha..

I'm so sorry abt your hamsters although i'm not sure whats the problem is but i do hope your hammy is doing fine. Hope others sifu here can help u..

haha i also use a basket as a hand made cage for one of my hamster. Care to take a full view of ur hamster 'cage'?

It is now hard , not skin like.
Its feels sorta like a scab..
The vets also dunno what the heck is that ask me leave it alone and see what happens..

Ouh, I see... very informative. My sister said i should bought it when he was young, so that he get use to it easier. When i bought him, the man said he was about 3 to 4 months already. If he doesn't let me catch him, it's quite difficult for me to catch him. I'll try to talk and liase with him more, i guess. Haa...

Well the vet says it may be the baby bite the nipple too hard , and that is a scab. Cant wait for baby's eyes to open tomorrow!

Ya,thats what happened to my hamsters when feeding babies also.
Btw, my latest batch is ready to let go.

Now the scab thing no more le. Its like a big hole scare get infection.

my hammy gave birth to 4 baby hamster, already near 2 weeks. Can i noe when will they open eye? now have fur alrdy. first time my hamster giv birth, so advice from u guys =)

i did not touch them and leave mother alot food. She did not harm the babies. =)

Well,usually mine will open their eyes in between 2 to 3 weeks.
After that,they will be VERY active in the cage, running around.
After around 25 days, should be ready to let go.

I'm thinking of letting go 1 of my WW pearl female as she haven't give birth until now.

today i saw my hamster yawn...her teeth is damn long n sharp...how to shorten it....she din bite anything inside the cage..even her bowl or house...and my cage is Ovo....i gt hard food for her...but she quite selective, she doesnt choose the hard food to eat...left there only...very sombong also...

u can buy this i bought last month & until today my hamster still grind his teeth when he feels like it. u can find the wooden bridge in petstore...its around rm6.
Before i tried the wooden bridge i was using apple wood. that is quite good too but the only bad side about apple wood is once the outer layer is removed my hamster wont grind his teeth with it anymore...takes about 2days then have to change new apple wood. but the wooden bridge is highly recommended coz until today(about 1 month already) he is still using it, plus it can act as a hiding place or toy for your hamster to climb on it.

he is doing great...getting fat because i give him mealworms

have u seen them mating? if so then maybe the male is just doing it wrong...if so then it might take some time...

or it could be the male is just not interested...

btw, try dog biscuit too.. check out the ingredients before buying thou
dog biscuit is good cause most hamsters love dog biscuit taste
and will bite it all the time
1 a week is sufficient
plus it gives protein to your hamster (i dont give meal worm so this is great!)

@markjohn: hamlet is doing fine.. alil reluctant to play sometimes since im working now.. he will wake up or wait up for me in the morning to see me wake up.. and then wehen i come home from work he is in toilet... i think he knows i will shoo him outta toilet so when that happens he knows im home

mine open their eye on the 11th day . Today is the 13th day and all open eyes already.

u can buy some wood toy. I use that and my hamsters bite on it. Or buy mineral rock for them.

They said that robo are hardest to breed, they only breed in springtime . so its best if u make the temperature same as overseas springtime or smth.
