Speaking of the filesonic download speed, I just installed the the unifi vip5 at Tmn Pelangi, JB.

Speedtest result at around 4988kbps (download) but filesonic only giving me around 150kbps download speed. Funny part is when I tried to download some stuff from nvidia website, I could simply hit 600kbps. >.<

anyone encounter same issue?

bro,

answers given in earlier post. if you are non premium user, speed is capped by filesonic, not tm

If I'm not mistaken TM is throttling those sites.

Don't know if this has been posted but I finally got an answer (I posted in the V10 thread) and thought I'd share:

Dear Mr. James,

We refer to your complaint to MCMC dated 23-05-2011 pertaining Unifi bandwidth allocation query, we thank you over this matter. We apologies deeply due to late reply concerning this matter.

UniFi is subject to Fair Usage Policy where certain bandwidth is allocated for the respective package, also known as Volume Capping. This is common practice by ISP around the globe.

However this policy is not being implemented yet by TM despite it is already being mentioned in our marketing communication. Hence UniFi customers currently enjoy Unlimited connection without any usage capping. We will communicate to our customers when this policy is to be enforced in the future.

We would also like to share some info on Volume Capping. When this is implemented in future ( the actual date is yet to be determined), users will experience slower connection speed when the allocated bandwidth is used up. Please refer below table for the bandwidth allocation. However please note it is not a total disconnection and user can still browse at lower speed. User will also be given option to purchase additional bandwidth to restore the subscribed speed. If user chooses not to purchase additional bandwidth, he will only get back the subscribed speed in the next bill cycle when the limit is refreshed.

The implementation of this policy shall require TM to provide our customers with on-line bandwidth monitoring tool, so that users can manage their bandwidth allocated. The tools shall be designed to be user friendly to prompt your usage level as well as a “top-up” platform. As this policy is not yet enforced, the availability of the tool is not relevant at the moment.

Broadband Package/Monthly Download Limit/Allowable Speed Once Limit Is Reached (if no additional Download volume is purchased)

EDITED: To reflect my total failure as a cut and paster. TM sent that info in a table that wouldn't go into BBCode. You can buy more download volume, no word on costs.

My BTU modem is dead. No power. Came back from holiday for 6 days and couldn't turn on. What should I do? I've already made complaint to Unifi.
