"We had eight players out and still had a good performance, so it is not all doom and gloom," Wenger said.

Wake up Mr AW. That stats doesnt count in league table, match stats etc.....Losing a game with that kind of excuse doesnt spare us from losing 3 points....Lacking of team depth is a very familiar excuse year after year....That only shows that arsenal second strings of players are not on par with first teamers. and 3 suspensions in 2 matches.....what a let down...

I somehow feel that this current batch will be better than the previous ones. I reserved my comments on Frimpong previously but after yesterday's match. It is a matter of time he will replace Song in the future. He has more aggressive in him that made me shouted for him than Song. The only problem now is to fill up Cesc's boots. Ramsey doesn't look compose enough to play as first choice yet. Left back was exposed. Both position need to fill. Miguel had a solid game yesterday though he accidently conceded one. I was surprised when Wenger sub him rather than Squilaci. Winger need to buy as we are clearly lack of somebody who can lead the attack especially on the left. Yesterday's match, our attack seems to be toothless. It wasn't a good game. Liverpool was not clinical enough but they were the better team where the result speaks for themself. Next week against Man Utd will not be easy, they are much much more clinical in front of the goal and once they bossed the midfield where we looked much more weaker at the moment. That will be the end. First problem is to conquer the midfield to control every game before think of other thing. We need somebody to hold the ball and distribute it around the team plus a winger who can run. I think the CB talk will be secondary before we made any changes in the middle.

QUOTE(hakimix @ Aug 21 2011, 07:05 PM)
Just because Squillachi is old doesn't mean he's experienced. Why don't you list Silvestre too as he's experienced according to you. How many mistakes have Squillachi made that cost us?How many have we conceded last season? Does Squillachi improve the team? Ok Vermaelen,Nasri,Arshavin,Hleb and Eduardo is good buy but did he build on that? No, instead he put some weak players to play with those signings.

For goalkeeper position we are settled now with no Almunia and Szcesny as our goalie. Just have to cross fingers that he will be fit all season. Miquel is what? 18? Is he ready yet? I don't think so thus we need reinforcements at the back as clearly we don't have enough able bodies when the season drag on.

And that's just his signings. What about his excuses? What about his tactics? Can't even win Carling Cup, choke on February-April seasons after seasons and much more. Did he try to improve on that? Nope instead just hope for the best by playing kids and giving excuses when we lost. Even our top 4 spot which is his only ambition (and not challenging for title) are in danger now.
*
I agree that old doesn't mean experienced but to say Squillaci is not experienced and Silvestre was not experienced is ridiculous no matter how you look at it. They have probably won more domestic leagues and been in more Champions League matches never mind in the finals than most can ever dream of.

You can probably argue they were past it when we signed them but to say they are not experienced is way wide of the mark.

meng... this morning lots of rumors....

Arsene Wenger has added France international Yann M’Vila to his list of targets.

Arsene Wenger is plotting audacious bid to take Kaka on loan from Real Madrid

Quotes are emerging from Wenger regarding Nasri's future. Wenger has apparently told Telefoot: "Both Manchester clubs are on case. Deep down Nasri likes it at Arsenal. It’s political, but it’s a long, long way from being done."

Arsenal have joined Bayern Munich in the race to sign Fiorentina outcast Riccardo Montolivo, according to speculation in Italy

Wenger has spoken to TF1 about Nasri. Wenger said: "He is happy here. There is no departure of Nasri at the moment. Maybe one day, but it's far, far, far from being done

-------------------------------

Yann M'vila... biggrin.gif nobody knows rite? Another AW kind of signing.

Montolivo? is he as good as he is in FM? hahahahah

Added on August 21, 2011, 10:02 pmBTW, if AW can pull Kaka on loan... i'm gonna need another jersey!

Ok so maybe I worded that one wrong but my point still stands. Is he as good as he was 7 years ago? Maybe he's already past it by looking at his performance last season. That's what you get when you buy based on price not on quality anymore.

Wenger is only successful during his first 8 years. Then what? The second 8 years as you can see we only have 1 trophy to show off. If you include those pre-season trophies surely you're deluded as it doesn't mean anything. But hey even we can't win the worthless cup this season right?

Yea right just reward underachieving players with more money just like Bendtner and those youth players. And we wonder why they are not motivated to play. That's why our wage bill is quite huge even though we don't have that much star players to pay to. Then people said we have no money because of the stadium even though we sold all the houses in our former ground. Might as well stay at Highbury if Emirates is such a money-sink. Hey we can't even fill our new shiny stadium with people now so what's the use. No one want to watch kiddie tippy-tappy football that is just frustrating to watch.

Rilex bro, we are not rich as MU, City, Chelsea. Tottenham, Liverpool. AW hands is tied with the Emirates debt. He needs to balance it. We can't buy players with 20+mil price.
We don't know how much money left in bank. Maybe zero. If zero, are we expect AW will announce there is no money in the bank? Maybe money generated by Fab sale is asked by Stan to finance Emirates debt. Who knows? If Stan is already happy, AW won't give single fucuk to us.

dont know yann m'villa? gosh..watched ligue,he's a good dm,strong, keep the ball well. and at 21 break in NT team is just, good.

and yeah agreed with little mozard the anti casa man
people need to remember,we are still in debt for the Emirates/The grove. So people said its already a few years after it was build now but, ofcourse,it's a multi million project
who knows wheter arsenal still have the "money" or not..
this generation of young players AW's brought in will continue to play, wether its with wenger or no in the future..people might look back by then, what has wenger done for the team..
good,bad time,together.
not in UCL by september? disaster
not wenger in charge by september? unthinkable..

I don't expect any new signings until we confirm our place in CL. Personally, I believe Jadson deal was agreed but the player want to wait and see whether we qualified for CL. Same apply to other possible signings (i.e. defender & striker).
