For BT application, CIMB very efficient and MBB bloody slow.

MBB:
14/11 sent in application thru Damansara Utama Branch
18/11 application captured in system and according to CS need to wait another 7 to 14 working days.

CIMB:
14/11 applied Credit card at CIMB credit card centre at Sunway Pyramid
15/11 Collect CC and sent in BT application thru CIMB credit card centre at Sunway Pyramid
18/11 money Giro to MBB, done in 4 working days.

Call back today, should be approved by now. If system captured it then it should be in process then.[

Wow! that's really fast, payment made within 3 days from the day you submitted the application.

Thanks Genx, because of you, can leave Rm14k in SCB account earning 5% interest. Next 2 months another RM10k, so can earn more pocket money. Can then take a course on Technical Analysis or Fundamental Analysis to make more money. There is a 0% brokerage for trading from CIMB but only until 31/1/12. Hope to follow your footsteps and able to retire ASAP. Will apply for RHB platinum card next month just for the 6month 0% BT and free access to PlazaPremierLounge.

yah. the SCB 5% very good But remember with BT you still got debts and you must put in your mind that the "principal" allocated to the earn interest is no longer your money (or else you feel rich and may end up buying other stuff).

OT, for TA, no need pay for course (because if the person is good at TA he won't be giving lessons but earning big bucks), just go read from internet (like the link I mentioned last time) or go mph buy books (but boring lah); AND it will take some time and patient to master it (and loose some money in the process). Yah, thanks for the reminder, the money for the Bt is in SCB and come 1-Jan-2011 it will be channeled out to some short term investment. Maybe CIMB trader account. Went to a few short talks on TA by Chartnexus but not fully convinced. You have to be experienced to use the right parameters to make decisions, not Easy. Maybe I will try Fundamental Analysis. Anyway I have gone thru most of the articles in your Blog. Maybe time to visit your blog to refresh.

What I mean is how will it show up in Maybank2u, as in the credit card transaction history or a new account created?

I just BT from CIMB -> MBB. There is no new account. It will charge as in whichever MBB CC you choose to BT over. e.g.
BALANCE TRANSFER PLAN G : 01/12 X

This will only show in your online M2u / statement AFTER the Statement Billing Date.

If you need to know whether the BT is approved and money transferred:
(i) Call up M2u CS and ask them.
(ii) Check if the payment is made to your BT source. e.g. In my case, is CIMB, I can see online cimbclicks the BT account is paid 1 week earlier before my statement is due.

Thanks, cutie. Just call the MBB CS and they told me just like what you said. BT already approved on 22/11 will take 3 working days to remit to OCBC. I prefer the CIMB way where they create a new account.

I just did a balance transfer from OCBC to MBB too
faxed in the application last tuesday then yesterday they already remit to OCBC.. a total of 5 working days
thumbs up to MBB for fast & hassle free service

can confirm its the same for my case. applied a small amount BT for testing. speedy processing from MBB!
-emailed application on 16 Nov
-replied saying MBB had received the application on 18 Nov
-payment GIRO to OCBC account on 23 Nov

From this experience, it is better to fax/email BT application directly than to send thru their branch.

Yes, fax would be faster, by submitting to the branch, the officer there has to forward your application to the relevant department and you got no control as to when he will do it.

Correct. Fax is direct to the department in charge (whether they working or not to collect and process the fax is another story)

Submit to branch, or even HQ, they still need to put in delivery-envelopes, and delivery-boy/courier to the processing department, which will normally not in that floor/building/location. Normally it is at other place. So, if the person-in-charge forgot/mixed up/delay the delivery, your application will not reflect in processing department. Hence, when you call up CS to ask, they say, "Not in system" Coz the documents may still stuck at the branch there underneath tonnes of paper
