Appreciate your answers!
1. I just found out from reading Chainfire's most recent and very long pages (100+ pages) that it does not wipe-out data on the phone.
2. Since I have never heard of any complaints about ODIN potentially carrying malware/virus, I can take a calculated risk to say it doesn't. Not 100% sure tho.
As for the tar file, it seems like Chainfire just added a few extra to the stock Kernal like CWM, etc before re-packaging/compressed it into a tar file.
3. Noted
4. The zImage is from the same tar file (CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OJV_KF1-v4.0-CWM4.tar)?
5. Any negative side effects so far after Rooting?
Again, many thanks!
4. Yes, u need to extract the .tar till you get zImage. zip>tar>zImage. Copy the zImage to /sd.1. I just found out from reading Chainfire's most recent and very long pages (100+ pages) that it does not wipe-out data on the phone.
