Wta smth bout CF 4.1. There are a few version of kernel and as state by Chainfire that i should find back the same kernel version as shown in the phone. Say my phone kernel version is "2.6.35.7-I9100XW KF1-CL265340", so i should find bac the kernel tat match mine by referring to KF1, but i only found there is KG1 - KG7, and no KF version for 4.1. so should i use KG1 version to CF? or there is no different between KF n KG, n only d no. 1 - 7 is the update improvement over the previous no.? I'm reading on the xda thread, n this is smth i'm not sure. Advice will be appreciate.

QUOTE(waveweaver @ Aug 9 2011, 10:26 PM) You can use XW_OJV_KF1 - v4.0_CMW4.zip to root your XWKF1. But that is for Android 2.3.3. Why not you upgrade to Android 2.3.4 first. Flash XXKG5 stock rom then root using XX_OXA_KG5 - v4.1_CMW4.zip Alrite, tqvm for ur reply will do it 2moro.

QUOTE(DNutz @ Aug 11 2011, 03:18 PM) Appreciate your answers! 1. I just found out from reading Chainfire's most recent and very long pages (100+ pages) that it does not wipe-out data on the phone. 2. Since I have never heard of any complaints about ODIN potentially carrying malware/virus, I can take a calculated risk to say it doesn't. Not 100% sure tho. As for the tar file, it seems like Chainfire just added a few extra to the stock Kernal like CWM, etc before re-packaging/compressed it into a tar file. 3. Noted 4. The zImage is from the same tar file (CF-Root-SGS2_XW_OJV_KF1-v4.0-CWM4.tar)? 5. Any negative side effects so far after Rooting? Again, many thanks! 5. The biggest problem after rooting is how to customize n rape ur phone 9 9.... I also juz rooted it yesterday n it was so freaking easy n smooth now play around 1st b4 decide to flash rom as d stock 1 serve me well in battery life
