It's not PES so u need to adapt. I have the same problem earlier on but now i can switch from Fifa to PES anytime. You can't use both D-Pad and Analog at the same time like PES unless u a gamepad that can turn off the analog on the fly like Logitech F series.
What software? If graphic driver.. how about u remove all of it like this and reinstall HP AMD driver and follow by AMD driver (pick any driver in the 2nd post)

If u can afford to do recovery maybe u can do minimal recovery.

Is the same like last time upgrade from 11.5 >> 11.8 but it work using modded  DNA-AMD GFX: 11.8.3-prev W7 . Recently saw it release the version 11.9 but i go ccc update but it shows that mine 1 the latest  .
Then, i go official web download it but after finished install it still maintain at current version and lose the software update selection    .

So i thinking do reinstall back my amd driver then perform official update

So far I face no problem with games in Win 7 x64.
You can burn the recovery dvd and use it to restore the original OS, but since you have reformat, I guess this option is out.
or press Esc during boot, it should give you some menu and should have the option to proceed Recovery..

Do you mean if I burn drive RECOVERY (D:) I can restore my dv6 to the original OS????

i kept it plugged in most of the time... wear rate still around 2%-3%... but i seldom go mobile tho, 1 week maybe 2-3 times only.
You didn't create the recovery disc?

Btw, i never have any problem playing games with 64bits Windows 7.
