lol. i prefer the dark version as well but most of my wallpapers is dark so sometimes cannot see the icons clearly.

have u noticed that if we start the dv6 on coolest mode the turbo boost will be off even after we change it to optimized mode. or is it just me?

Erm guys, wanna ask one thing.
I have installed 7zip on my dv6 but when i assign the formats, the formats arent recognized (.rar, .zip, .part) even though i already enabled it in the option. Then after Acid taught me, i ran the application as admin and assigned the formats and it worked.
however, the shell integration still not working. When i right-click a file, the 7zip option is not there, anyone know what's the reason?

You install 64-bit 7-zip ?

I tried both 32-bit and 64-bit no difference.... so i installed back the 32-bit one...

i just update my bios and everything through hp assistant, and the hdd temp is solve and lower temp when playing crisis 2, way lower.. after update, i realise that turboboost is off when put to coolest mode, thats why my temp playing crysis 2 is 20 degress lower, lol.

I think so.

Yeah, i checked the options there, everything is ticked... but it is not shown when i right-click. Do i need to disable the UAC like you did acid?

Yeah, i tried to untick then apply, then tick then apply again in admin mode, in non-admin mode also no difference
Tired coz after all the hassle and headache crunching the problem to what is it that cause the high temps of >90, in the end... it was because i set it to "Performance Optimised" mode and not "Coolest" mode... so was like... "What the hell.... went through all the trouble and the problem was that?!" kind of feeling

optimised mode shud be ok, i run under that and using coolest + u3, so its quite ok now. im happy! :D:D finally can play crysis 2 for non-stop and without worrying the side effect for long term, guess i will just wait till i have enough courage to reapply thermal paste myself later on.

i don't know what else preventing your 7-zip to integrate with right click.

time to rest and enjoy the lappy.. don't forget to use the Macbook Pro-like touchpad program.... lol.

Do you guys experience a "laggy" feeling when using Firefox v6.0 on the dv6 only? It takes 11 seconds to launch, and another 3 to completely load Google.com when I first launch it after the computer boots. But after Firefox had launched for the first time, the second time is very much faster, taking only 2.5 seconds to launch and completely load Google.com.

It has only 3 enabled add-ons and no app tabs, by the way.

And when it opens new empty tabs, it somehow feels "laggy" compared to when I open a new empty tab in my desktop. In my desktop's Firefox v4.0, it feels smooth and it "flows".
