QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Aug 7 2011, 12:17 AM) I think got 1 or 2 screws and another 2 on the fan. You don't need to take out the USB module.. just need to disconnect the cable. QUOTE(Efalex @ Aug 7 2011, 10:55 AM) Thanks for the advice and guidance. You guys really courageous warriors la... me no courage to do that... I have just finish reapplying new thermal paste. It took me about 2.5 hours. Good news is I able to reassemble it back without any extra screw and the laptop work flawlessly. The bad news, I have broken a tiny piece of plastic frame that used to hold the HDMI connector in place. Luckily the majority of the plastic frame (~90%) is still intact. Temp drop a bit (not significant) but at least it didn't go over 90C on IBT. p/s: Now I know what a ZIF is. Almost damage the keyboard connector when I forcefully pull it out from the ZIF socket. Can i bring my dv6 to HP centre for them to reapply for me? QUOTE(Efalex @ Aug 7 2011, 01:06 PM) It's non glossy, at least for the black colour Beats headphone Yay!!! So now we dv6-6114tx owners are PROUD!!!!! Correction: 6114TX come with both auto and manual switching capability while 6001TX can use manual swithing only. QUOTE(dinraxxx @ Aug 7 2011, 05:53 PM) new 6001TX.Good laptop compared to Dell's latest RM 4k macbook lookalike.Bought this DV6 at All IT lowyat for RM 3.5k.Any tips and tricks for starters? I think you need go read first page.... got all the required info....Wonder why everyone dont read first post??? |

QUOTE(Efalex @ Aug 7 2011, 10:12 PM) No choice. If sent to HP, it may end up the same as before for the thermal paste application and may take some time. Besides I have some thermal paste left and want to know better the internal structure of this laptop. Hmm... yeah, you have a point... Dont really trust the Hp technician's techniques in handling the notebooks... haih....Anyway, congrats on your success Efalex! QUOTE(faridz7 @ Aug 7 2011, 10:14 PM) First, you need to know that the computer can only have either 4 "primary" partition or 3 "primary" + XX number of logical partitions.By default, our notebook is already full with 4 "primary" partitions, namely the system, C:, D:Recovery and HP_Tools. If you want to repartition your C: drive, you need to first change D:Recovery drive to logical or delete it, dont delete systems (contain bootloader) and HP_Tools... Then you shrink the C: drive while it is still "primary", dont change it to logical, it will not boot... experienced it beforehand. Then your remaining spaces would be logical and the new drives that you created would be ALL logical drives.... So in the end, you will have System (primary), C:(primary), D:Recovery(logical, or deleted it), HP_Tools (primary) and others logical (the new partitons that you created) |

QUOTE(faridz7 @ Aug 8 2011, 12:20 AM) thanks very much rurushu. Will give it a go tomorrow..really appreciate it. Can the D:Recovery be deleted off? what is it actually? Ive already created the recovery discs by the way. Oh and one more thing, when you say shrink the C: drive, that means resizing it right? which in my case, resizing it to 150gb...and then if i follow your steps correctly, that means I would have the remaining 550 gb as a new logical partition right ? The D:Recovery is the recovery partition of the harddisk, something like your recovery discs (if im not mistaken, you can check back at first post the repartition steps by thisisboletaria, im actually following his guide, just that i encountered some small problems, but nevertheless, it was done in the end). You can delete the Recovery partition to free up HDD space, but i only recommend you do that AFTER you BURN YOUR RECOVERY DVDs....really appreciate the help, cheers Yeah, shrinking it means you resize it to your liking, then those extras would be automatically counted together as logical remaining space. You can create your new partitions from the remaining logical spaces... |

QUOTE(Acid_RuleZz @ Aug 8 2011, 03:24 PM) I can't brain this. Start game then quit? I think he means "in the game, for eg, already holding gun, can move around start shooting people, not in the menu/option before starting the game.mine depend on weather too.. ±8c between day and night. no, i don't know how to fix g-sensor error. Yup. lol? now v1.9 already. I know now latest is v1.9, but does it contain all the fixes previously done in v1.8? I mean, if i update v1.0 directly to v1.9, would it fixes the problem previously fixed in v1.8? This post has been edited by rurushu: Aug 8 2011, 03:32 PM |

QUOTE(arslow @ Aug 8 2011, 04:16 PM) You really shud install version 1.9 as its the latest and more optimized version, and it enables you to run crysis 2 in DX11!!! I tried it just now, i installed my crysis 2 at D: drive, but when i run the v1.9 patch it said it cant locate my crysis 2 whereas for v.18 it can locate, LOL...QUOTE(faridz7 @ Aug 8 2011, 11:06 PM) thanks for the help rurushu, trying it now at this very second, lets hope it works.... Added on August 8, 2011, 11:24 pmhey guys, i had to restart the computer because it says that C:/ is being used and that minitool will restart and do the partitioning when the computer restarts... its now at the startup, black screen and it says " 1 of 2 operations " and is stuck there for quite a bit...is that normal ? QUOTE(faridz7 @ Aug 8 2011, 11:55 PM) its been quite a while already....it says Did you keep C: drive as "Primary"??? Because the only time when i encounter the said black screen with those operations is the first time when i wrongly assigned the C: drive to "logical"1 of 2 operations... Resize partition partition letter C: partition label disk index: 1 partition index : 2 new partition starting: LBA: 409600 new partition size : 153601 - its just stuck on that..20 over mins now... do you think i should just force restart the computer? If you force restart like what i did, it will run the system recovery and fix something i know not, then you back into your windows. |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Aug 9 2011, 12:59 AM) ok, just now i tried to rename the drives, but when i wanted to rename the G:HP_Tools, it popped up a warning window that said it is current in use, if you change it, some programs may not run, do you wanna continue? So i didnt touch the G:HP_Tools and leave it be.So in the end, my drives are C: drive, D: drive, E: drive and F: BD-ROM drive + the original unchanged G:HP_Tools drive Thanks for your help sifu lee |

I play crysis 2 every time with coolsense at performance optimised + U2 cooling pad, no aircond and the temps are always around 94-95 degrees for CPU and 87-88 degrees for GPU, the HDD is 44 degrees max just now which i think is due to the hot evening.... |
