Maybe that will reduce it..

dunno whether kernel issue or not and i'm lazy to flash new rom for her phone because that phone is not quite developer friendly..many steps just to go to recovery mode..
btw when u're using sd kernel 2.6.32.9 have you played temple run and is it smooth??

make sure the ad hoc is using WEP or no password.
if u made it WP2, ur phone can only detect but cannot connect.

am back on FR's MIUI rom, .32.9 mOCk kernel. dam. smooth. as it was on CacingKalung's MIUI with SDkernel.

.35.7 was the kernel giving me issues so screw that.

am facing a new problem though, i get a glitched screen after boot logo, before boot animation. the screen looks like the MissingNO pokemon in pokemon blue red n yellow lol.

other than that his rom is pretty stable.

Forget MIUI & other roms if you're into gamming. Try this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1602475. Not to mention simple game like Temple Run...HD games runs without any problem with this rom.

sounds good but our phone will never be a proper gaming machine, it cant even handle dual touch ._. lol. try handling d-pad left side of the touch screen and mash a button on the right side of touch screen and itll surely fail ie shadowgun, PES2011, even inertia HD ._.

for me as long as it looks good, and can handle my daily tasks.. it's good enough for me

if i wanted a proper phone to game with with a tight budget, a Galaxy S or a cheaper HTC 2nd hand can do the job.. I mean even the Galaxy S2 is only RM1.2k ish if bought 2nd hand from Singapore, and in good condition.

heat issue
very bad battery life
'emergency call only' whenever i'm at poor coverage area

stock rom is too laggy. is welcom a better option?

my stock csl rom has been pretty good, its rooted, bloat ware removed, netquin installed with go luncher, setcpu and ram manager installed, and I haven't encountered any restart for 5days straight though battery is not too good as with most android and smart phones. but with 3g disabled its pretty average. I'm enjoying it at the moment. its also been very stable. though I'm using a 2gig sdcard maybe that might have something to do with it been ok n stable.

Maybe u can try CM7.2...battery can last for 2 days for normal use with 2g network...but if using 3g i think just average for 1 whole day only depend on your telco...

every rom will have wakelocks, which cause battery drain even when no background apps are running and when your phone is idle left while you are asleep.

however cyanogenmod custom roms have been proven to provide great batt life. mokee and bumblebee has plenty of recommendations too. if you're looking for something more stock, wellcom is pretty okay. Maclite's rom is inbetween a stock and a custom, its' a stock rom stripped to minimum.

if u wana flash cm7, proly most stable is 31/12 Edowar's. I used to use rc2, i have all the issues you mentioned except the emergency call, and even worse, i get frequent reboots. now I get them once in 1-2 days or less biggrin.gif am on MIUI, Free Radical (but thinking of changing back to CacingKalung cuz he doesnt seem to afk from forum too often)
