How to update ROM:
1st method:

2) Copy the file firmware.nb0 to your SD card. Make sure it is placed in the root folder (not saved in a folder) and turn off your phone and enter bootloader.
3) To enter bootloader mode, press and hold volume up + down + power buttons until you see the image of the Android logo with exclamation mark.

CyanogenMod 7.1 development thread & download link
MIUI development thread and download link

Some extra tweaks:
Chainfire3D custom video driver (requires root) (not recommended for Gingerbread because screen brightness wont work and button light is off)

Rooting:
For 2.2.2 ROM you need SuperOneClick (v1.7 is recommended) with rageagainstthecage exploit
For 2.3.4 ROM you can use manual method by following instruction here. Or follow rooting through CWM recovery method

ClockWorkMod Recovery:

Tj_style from kaskus forum and xda developer board has ported ClockWorkMod recovery to this phone. Latest download link is here or you could download alternate one made by Napstar thread here

QUOTE
This is the first Clockworkmod Recovery for device FB0, and for sure its Unofficial.
Working:
- Backup
- Restore
- Install From Zip

Not Working:
- ADB
- USB Mount

Installation:
   1) Extract file recovery.img from cwm-recovery-fb0-v1.zip
   2) Connect mi-410 to PC in Download Mode (press Power+Volume Up during boot)
   3) Wait until the message USB-Storage to appear,
   4) Replace file recovery.img inside the folder image
   5) Disconnect USB from PC
   6) Disconnect mi-410 and then reboot

Navigation:
Select = Power & Search
Move Up = Home & Vol-Up
Move Down = Menu & Vol-Down
Back = Back

Rooting via ClockWorkmod Recovery

QUOTE
First step: Replace original recovery with ClockWorkmod Recovery
1. Download ClockWorkMod Recovery
2. Put the device in download mode (Power+Vol Up) and connect to PC,
and the PC will recognize the device as Removable Disc/Storage open it and you will find FIH > Image folder and select recovery.img, copy it anywhere to your PC as backup just in case if anything go wrong
3. Replace recovery.img in 'image' folder with recovery.img inside the Clockworkmod Recovery v4.0.0.9 you download and extracted earlier
4. Disconnect device from PC, open up the battery and reboot.

Second step (DO FIRST STEP FIRST): Rooting the phone
1. Download Su 2.3.6.3 signed.zip and put it in sdcard (but don't put it in any folder)
2. Put the device in recovery mode (press and hold down volume up+ volume down and power button, in that sequence during bootup)
3. Select "install zip from sdcard" and select "Choose zip from sdcard" and search for 'Su 2.3.6.3 signed.zip' and click install.
4. Select "back" and click "reboot system now"

Common shortcut on the phone (when the phone is off):

Recovery (or clockwork recovery if you install it): Volume Up + Volume Down + Power
Download mode (to install nb0 via SUT or replacing any system files): Volume Up + Power

Instantaneous GPS Fixation v1.2 for faster GPS locks

Overclock kernel: DooMLord released the elusive 1.9GHz kernel, download link and instruction is here.

WARNING: Although the author said it I gonna say it again: Its not for the faint hearted, I DON'T RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO USE IT. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. If you have basic idea of overclocking on desktop you should apply it here too.

Don't be silly and select 1.9GHz straight away, test from 1.4GHz and slowly increase the frequency and test using SetCPU stress test or play some games. DON'T use 1.9GHz all the time, you might shorten the lifespan of the phone. My phone stable at that frequency, but it gets heated high enough that the touchscreen cease to function and phone gets really uncomfortable to hold. You have been warned

Compatible accessories:

Sony Xperia X10 screen protector
HTC HD7 pouch (it won't fit 100% but still better than nothing)

Duh, I already registered from your forum, I know where you from. Its not like I don't ask permission first, but I'm using different username in that forum. The link are meant to be shared, if not why should it been posted isn't it? Internets are the place to share information, and not just to some individual.

I did give credit at the bottom of the first post where I put links to where are my sources, I think that should be enough. The server is on mediafire, which is a a public filesharing server.

Anyway thanks, there isn't much discussion or development on CSL Mi410 on the web and the only active ones are from your forum. Next time take it to PM please so it won't ruin the thread
