hi sifu, 2 questions:

1) if customer do giro transfer from CIMB to M2U example, will it reflect instantly on your account OR only reflect once the amount is in?
2) can customer cancel the giro in the middle because it is not instant transfer.

International banks (Oversea)mostly not instantly avaliable on your local bank account. It may takes days to process. If you are talking about llocally incorporated foreign banks (like HSBC Malaysia) they can use QR Transfer / Instant Transfer to instantly transfer their money to you.

I think this is not about security anymore, is about forcing people to use and rely on the app
and then what?

Pbe online banking now has an extra link showing Transaction On Hold..... they will hold any abnormal transaction. This could be troublesome if we wanted to pay someone for a purchase but money cannot go thru.......

WEF 22 June 2023, PB will implement Transaction Cooling-Off Period via PBe and PB engage.
Online Instant Transfer/Duit Now transfer may not be immediate. Bank may call to verify online transaction that is deemed "abnormal"

Received this in my email from PB.
An extra layer of security. But if customer is in overseas, receiving verification call from PB could be expensive or not possible if phone number has no roaming setup  hmm.gif
