An update on using online IBFT (instant version of IBG) to transfer FD interest from RHB. It is immediate  transfer to CB. Logged in to CB and saw it just seconds later. Now I am a believer. The cost is 80 cents vs normal online IBG of 10 cents. Worth it if we need the funds. Other banks charges is different for IBFT.

Hi guy,

If GST implement on 2015 (around April 2015 if I'm not mistake), then is it got any GST charges for interbank between different bank service provider through online?
*
if i'm not mistaken, should have.

GST is applied to services rendered, hence IBG's service fee (RM0.10 for online/RM2.00 for OTC) is taxable.

refer this GST industry guideline for commercial banking http://gst.customs.gov.my/en/rg/SiteAssets...uary%202014.pdf

Of course, 6% of RM0.10 is RM 0.006, which would mean you get charged RM0.106 (round up to 11 cent?).
*
GST amount would be rounded first. for this case, RM0.006 would be rounded to RM0.01.

add GST to RM0.10 IBG fee = RM0.11 nett IBG fee.

Thank you for the info. Just to double confirm, GST really need to round up first before add back to the fee?
*
yep. cuz GST amount only hold 2 decimal value (traditional 5sen rounding).

e.g.

6% GST for RM0.60 = RM0.036. Custom's calculation only account RM0.04 GST. Nett amount = RM0.64, inclusive of GST.

6% GST for RM0.78 = RM0.0468. Custom's calculation only account RM0.05 GST. Nett amount = RM0.83, inclusive of GST.

you can try the GST online calculator here http://gst.customs.gov.my/en/Pages/default.aspx

read the T&Cs.

they're "giving" away rm2mil waiving 2mil transactions for the whole campaign, to anybody, first-come first-served basis.
