1. Where to go untick "Enable always-on mobile data"?
I went to Settings > Accounts & sync > Unchecked Auto-sync -- do I uncheck "Background data" too? What's that for?
Erm, I don't see ""Update when I view/Open Widget/APplication"
Yes, new, factory version not modified at all.

2. I only use GPS (Papago) and don't use the rest like Locations or Navigation.
It will work fine and suddenly it'll 'force close" every few minutes.

3. What is "rooted"? Sorry, all this new to me. Anyway, I've just uninstalled Viber.

BTW, i noticed that the phone is significantly cooler when Mobile Network unticked. Is the heat (when on) normal? Any side effects? Any precautions I should take?

How to close windows or applications properly? Do they automatically close when I hit the back button?
E.g switching between Mail, Messages, People, and Internet... sometimes more
Still learning to navigate this phone properly. Anywhere I can read up on the net?

Juz click back and go back to the homescreen. Android will manage the closing for you.

1. The option is in:-

Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks

You turned off Sync?, you don't use the sync options is it?, like email and stuff?...well if you don't then might as well turn off background data as well. The option i mentioned doesnt come up for all accounts like facebook or gmail. But if you try and tap on Weather you'll see something like "Update When Opened", thats what im referring to actually.

2. Hmm, I'm not very familiar with that, maybe due to resolution problem, there was a fix here but I'm not sure which post so you better do a search of this thread for "papago".

3. Root is similar to Iphone's Jailbreak, it gives you full access, like Administrator account in Windows. If you want to know more google "rooting android phones".

5. Spare battery, I think you can get those from HTC, maybe their dealers and distributors? (not too sure about that though)...if you're talking about bigger batteries, unfortunately as of current there is retailer of bigger capacity battery for HTC Sensation in Malaysia, you have to buy online through ebay, Amazon etc. There's the Mugen 1800ma and Anker 1900ma if you're interested.

It's cooler because the hardware for it isn't being used. It's like for old phones the phone gets warm in long phone calls, its not a problem so no need to worry too much about it.

Like our forumer previously mentioned, back button will close the application. However, when you go straight to home from an app, the app will auto close after awhile. Same thing when you turn off your screen.

Well, in terms of getting used to the interface, reading the user manual does help a lot. I completely understand as this was my first android phone for me as well =P

first boot my phone is utterly hot when charging, cleaning battery stats and it's ok.
Home screen a bit choppy at first, but after restart the choppiness has decrease, but a little choppy with the mail, calendar, and friend stream widget. When charging utterly choppy. Anyone have experience the same?

I am running LeeDroid V3.0.0 with LeeDroid Kernel 3.1.0 with CPU Master OC at 1.72ghz.
So far no lagging or wat so ever.
Juz the battery drain faster. Will do batt cab and might set few profiles in the OC

I'm 16 years old, got sensation with 2 years SiS warranty, and have root my device by looking XDA guide. If you follow carefully nothing could go wrong

Try with faux123 0.1.2 Kernel 1.56Ghz Synch L2

I'm using it and no problems, no choppiness. I did try the new kernel from Lee (3.1.0) but the slow bootup/choppiness still remain.

Thats weird, how come mine choppy and sometimes lag, I full wiped and everything, like I always do before flashing and let it settle before and after restoring my user apps.

However, for those who are worried of missing out on the things added by Leedroid in his Kernel, don't be, I've checked out his source and it's more or less the same with faux123 0.1.2 with some minor differences (which I cannot tell you the pros and cons of btw since its all technical stuff)

What if using Sensation kernel 0.1.2 (1.78 GHz)?
What is the difference between on demand and smartass?

Smartass = Different kind of CPU scaling governor (changes how the processor goes up a step/speed to accomodate increased demand)

Actually I did try out the 1.78 version, but I noticed battery runs a bit faster due to overclock so went back to the 1.56 version.

For your information our processor MSM8660 default clock is 1.5GHz, therefore stock cpu speeds are underclocked.

Ive been usin AnTuTu CPU Master recently, it got future like on demand, smartass, powersave, peformance etc. Is AnTuTu CPU Master real, change CPU speed or help? Or should just flash kernel and that's it? Oh, and is there another apps like AnTuTu?

better flash lee's 3.1 kernel, the latest one.
im using set cpu instead (if cannot buy you know where to get)...
best governor is on demand

after install lee's latest kernel, i dont feel choppy in boot. and all apps running smooth

EDIT: reflash leeDROID 3.0.0 rom or flash over? ** take it back, just saw the kernel link, sorry** btw kernel link seem to crash can anyone help?

hmm funny, i'm going to give it a go again later, maybe just now phone acting up or something.

For kernels just flash over and clear dalvik cache

Just helped a friend flash CM7 on her Wildfire, man that ROM is really awesome, immediately made that dull phone nice.

I really do hope our model will have some CM love sometime in the future.
