newbie here too,MIUI users can take a look here.
i had tried many times, each time bring me a disappeared notification bar,can need to restore back using nandroid.so if any sifu can make it,pls upload the SystemUI.apk (1.7.29 Garak version) then i will appreciate a lot!!

well,it not works for me...
dunno wats wrong wif it,i adi mount system and reflash again,juz dont works for me.i m on Gark MIUI v.1.7.29 v.3 too,suppose should have same SystemUI.apk d...
so how do u flash it and make it works for u?

and the pattern lock is real annoying with each time unlock will appear , but make it appear after 3min like ARHD ?

now i can explain the issue more clear now.
my phone recognise the delivery report as 'new msg received' so it will play my 'new msg' tone after i sent the message. so? plus the sent msg notification tone, i oways got two tones playing after sending one msg. i never had this prob before i changed my msg tone. izzit bcos of the os? bcos previously after i set the msg tone when the first time use (2 months ago, still using 2.1 or 2.2 i'm not sure). even after update to gingerbread i oso din changed the msg tone until yesterday i changed the tone, the prob appears.

do u guys have the same issue?

i jz put the zip file into sd card, boot into recovery, mount /system, and then flash the zip. That's it.

there are 2 zip files there,which 1 u flash?after flash,u got the "extra options" from the date and time setting there juz like the link u share 2 me?

edit:my fren using MIUI.us version 1.7.29,and flash tat mod,and it works for him!!i guess it is for MIUI.us oni?

me flashed the one with the center clock. yeap - got all the extra options as shown in the link's screenshot.

hmm..but i'm the same as you. MrGarak MIUI v3. ours also should be MIUI.us also rite

i think the SystemUI.apk should be different...
coz developed by different developers,they might modified their own things and the SystemUI.apk should be modified too...

but mine can flash no problem - and i'm using the same MIUI as you

not sure whether it make any difference or not, but i clear cache and dalvik to EXT4 prior to flashing

will my phone be wiped if I flash a theme?
and how do I do it?

all done for me,seems like it is the recovery problems.coz i use 4EXTRECOVERY,once i flash to clockworkmod recovery,then all problem solved...

Wipe cache, wipe dalvik, then flash theme

wow. i didn't know got other recovery besides CWM

hey guys,got a serious problem here.
my fren(DHD too) using MIUI 1.7.22,its phone juz freeze without any reason,took out battery,restart,then not long time freeze again.tis thing repeat many times until he give up to turn on the phone then juz turn it off.he said tat while having tis keep freezing problem,got 1 warning message pop-up,saying that sd card corrupt(but still can c the content inside).so i decided to help him switch to MIUI.us v1.7.29(b4 tat is Mr.Garak 1.7.22).so the problem still happen after a full wipe+flashed.so i tried to disable the mobile data connection,playing around for a while,no freeze issue.when turn on back the mobile data connection,no longe time then freeze again!!so wat is the problem now?sd card?mobile data problem?hope some1 can help...

Well, this means you got 2 tones playing at once after you sent the msg right, simple....can tell me where did you change the ringtone?? Default sound?? If default sound then, just go over to your Messages setting and change the notifications there to default also
