If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true. I would really caution against buying oils from hypermarkets after the articles I've read about fakes. The purchaser in charge of motor oils at Tesco probably doesn't even care if it's real or fake, they just care about the bottomline-cost. As long as a supplier is there supplying at a good price, they will buy and stock up. I doubt they have any process of validating the originality of the content/product that they are buying since their turnover is so high. Of course, it could really bee a good deal by Tesco. I just wouldn't bet on it.

Mr Phon Phon... (heh heh)...

I have used these EU packed oils (Shell Helix Semi - 5L bottles) and Castrol Magnatec since many many moons ago, and have no issues with my engines whatsoever.... have used them on local and EU cars...

I know that these hypermarket does require authentication and certification from the suppliers, as well as product liability insurance (and of course listing fees, annual performance fees, etc), and massive quantity bulk buy.... also the suppliers are rated by "complaints" by customers, and they are kicked out if their quality are not assured...

Still, while these oil suppliers can supply fake oil, and can falsify the certs, but I doubt they will also want to lose their listing fee, their shelf fee, nor lose a big client such as these hypermarts...

Again, to each his own, I am only sharing my experience with the semi syn oil, which works well for me thus far...

Congrats...

There should be a manual, otherwise go claim from SA...

To change clock, you press hold the left most button down, the press the buttons with the H and the M printed above the buttons... If the clock cannot be set, means u have to go one more step, press the DISP button to go into menu mode, change the the first option to USER. Then set the clock again.

To pair, on your phone bluetooth. Then press the bluetooth button and HU will show Connecting... On ur phone, go to find new devices, you should see PROTON device. Select it. It should complete the pairing.

Neither have I seen people complaining of sludging or engine destruction due to usage of fake oils in MY, so even if there are fakes being used (and we know there are), it shows that they are of some standard, to the extent where most people don't even know (probably till a couple of years later where it is too late). The thing is, IF those were fakes, they were probably standard quality oils, repacked into premium packaging, charged at a premium. You will definitely have no problems if you still maintain regular service intervals.

It looks like you know much more about the hypermarket supply chain, so perhaps you're right. I only know what I hear from my friend who was a purchaser.

That is a very high mileage for a new car. Normally ours less than 15km. Where is this showroom? Usually the carrier lorry delivers the cars to all showrooms. Well... as long as the condition of the car is ok, no issues, nothing much to worry about then.

Sothy stocking up minyak masak ke? So many bottles...

Jack's new nose... post pic after painting k... poison others here... biggrin.gif

My own experience , when MIVEC kick in , car RPM touching 4k rpm for every gear~ (MANUAL INSPIRA), rpm will pull fast until 6k rpm and i can feel the power delivered non-stop directly without any delay.

Added on August 18, 2011, 11:05 amBUT not accurate for gear1-3 of MIVEC kick feel for which RPM start. have to find a clear place of straight road to do TESTING and record it by passenger help.
