I plug in my jig everytime to enter the download mode though. so the flash counter shouldn't work.  rclxm9.gif

Is there such thing for samsung engineer to check whether we flash it or not?  hmm.gif

hi guys/gals

looks like this thread is moving fast.
i got my set from bangkok and sold it off before coming back here.

short review:

even with dual-core, it's not silky smooth like iOS.
perhaps android needs 100 cores just to reach iphone level.

screen is nice and bright but still lose to retina display.

and the battery life is horrible!
cannot even last half a day.
no gaming, no music listening, only normal phone call and sms.

samsung kies is absolutely rubbish. slow and clunky interface.
touchwiz is practically useless and users need to replace IMMEDIATELY with new launcher...

LOL when read that even geeks here cannot answer the phone or find the dialpad. this just shows how bad the human interface of samsung truly is.

like the sgs1, it's a so-so phone and customers who paid good money need to spend more time and research to make it work properly.

the camera and 1080 recording is quite good. smooth.
voice recording quite clear too.

summary
is this android's best weapon now?
so sad...even android's longest sword lose out to apple's 1 year phone.

have fun guys.

pluggin in the jig and erasing the counter triggers another hidden counter that shows how many times you erased

let's assume there isn't anything to check whether we flash or not,

is it then completely safe to say that once I flash it back to the XWKF1, they're just gonna think it is original stock firmware? since everything in setting> about phone was identical before and after flash. rclxub.gif

Actually, does this Samsung Dive really works?...
Let's say my phone is stolen.

1) The guy switched off the phone. Take out the sim card.

2) Go home, sit down in front of his computer. Switch the PC on.

3) Go to get a cup of coffee.

4) Switch phone on without data enabled, off GPS.  Plug in to USB port to copy all your important data and photos into his PC.

5) Then use 3 button combo to go into Download mode.

6) Flash a new Stock ROM. Factory reset and wipe data.

7) Put in new Sim card and use the phone. Log in with new Google account.
Now, will Samsung Dive still be able to detect this phone....I doubt so, right?

hmm.gif
*
think it is more useful to detect missing phones rather than stolen ones.

I'm new user of SGS2.
Switching from SGS. Just update to Frankenstein stock ROM 2.3.4.
Just wanna ask. Can I reflash back to stock 2.3.3?
About transferring my ex-data from froyo, I have backup with titanium.
So, shall I restore all apps with user data?
Will it work? Hope someone can help. Thanks.

I couldn't install Kies as it needed internet connection and my office PC does not allow that. I also tried installing SAMSUNG_USB_Driver_for_Mobile_Phones_v1.3.350.0.exe but nothing. Is there any other way I can connect to my PC for file transfer?

Your IMEI should still be the same right?

If they use Imei to track, I know of some custom ROMs where after you flash, your Imei will be changed too....
