I think 1st page has guide on how to setup SamsungDive already. Was discovered in the previous thread version. biggrin.gif
*
Actually, does this Samsung Dive really works?...

Let's say my phone is stolen.

1) The guy switched off the phone. Take out the sim card.

2) Go home, sit down in front of his computer. Switch the PC on.

3) Go to get a cup of coffee.

4) Switch phone on without data enabled, off GPS. Plug in to USB port to copy all your important data and photos into his PC.

5) Then use 3 button combo to go into Download mode.

6) Flash a new Stock ROM. Factory reset and wipe data.

7) Put in new Sim card and use the phone. Log in with new Google account.

Now, will Samsung Dive still be able to detect this phone....I doubt so, right?

hmm.gif

Your IMEI should still be the same right?
*
If they use Imei to track, I know of some custom ROMs where after you flash, your Imei will be changed too....

Lol~ Tried to play a 1080p anime with subs and the phone got hanged~! Need to unplug the battery to restart doh.gif
Using stock player= Only audio, no subs and video... doh.gif
Using Mobo player= Only audio, no subs and video...  doh.gif
Using mVideo player= Only audio and subs, no video... doh.gif
Using MX Video player= Audio, subs and video are working  thumbup.gif but everything also lags from time to time and finally it hangs... doh.gif
So any more video player to recommend me to play this SUPER anime without any problem or lags? flex.gif

What format is your file?

I have been testing a few 1080p HD movies, MTVs, trailers and all have no problems playing with Stock player...

Maybe you share with us your anime file to test test?

Hi guys,

I just checked Samfirmware.

XXKG5 released date is 2nd August but XXKG6 is in July.

So weird that KG5 is newer than KG6....thought they should run in numerical order?

I'm collecting feedback from different users, let's see how it goes.
So far only benny888 reports that he didn't face the pink spot issue while he is running same camera and phone firmware with me.

I just took a photo of a light coloured wall under fluroscent light. Here is the effect.

Thanks for your response.
May I know what firmware upgrade solved your problem?
Do you mind to check your camera firmware now as well?
Thanks.
You got the pink spot problem as well, although I can say it is not as severe as mine.
What firmware are you on?

I'm on Stock KF1.

hey guys, I'm actually thinking about jumping on board here as well... would like feedback from you guys about this phone:

1. I'm a heavy internet user, which is why I'm so interested in this phone because I heard the browser is UBER fast and plays 720p flash videos like nobody's business - is that true? it doesn't lag even one bit when dealing with flash in the browser?

2. how is the multitasking being handled? This is important to me as I'm always dealing with the phone and being able to jump from one task to another swiftly is a must for me.

3. Just for comments sake, mind saying what you absolutely HATE About the phone? like something that might be bugging you and there's just nothing you can do about it and stuff like that? thanks
*
Just sharing my own experience:

1) I watch Full HD 1080p videos, movies, etc...smooth. No lag.

2) No issue with multitasking. SGS2 has "real" multitasking compared to iPhone "perceived" multitasking.

3a) When I play HD games like Air Attack HD for 30 minutes or more, i feel the phone gets hot. Some users said ugrading to newer firmware can reduce this "hot" feeling...I have not tried upgrading firmware yet.

3b) It's too thin, less than 9mm thick. You might misplace it.
3c) It's too fast...you have to read faster or tap the screen faster. It doesn't wait for you.
3d) It's too cool to be seen holding one. You might get too much attention (maybe from opposite sex).
3e) It can play all kinds of video format...you will get addicted.
3f) The video recording is too sharp...full 1080p is too realistic...
3g) The screen is too beautiful to behold...other phone users will hate you.
3h) It has too many customisation options..you will become too stressed on what widgets to use, which launchers to use...ie Go Launcher EX, ADW launcher, SPB 3D shell, Launcher Pro..etc....everyday you feel like you are holding a new phone.
3i) Too many stock and custom Roms to flash...you will become a Flasher...

Okay..okay....Items 3(b) to 3(i) are just kidding....don't believe me...

Hi guys,

Need your help here.

Can you help me to check your Lockscreen wallpaper...just like the image below.

Do you have this thin white line across the screen at the top half of the screen (just below the word Friday, 5th August)?

Thanks

for me,

LaunchePro Plus ftw!! all time winner. waiting for its update from fede for the complete code rewriting.

adw ex will get laggy when using too many widgets or after some time. not that i use many but thats for stress test. my sister's wildfire s got her phone hang using that. even the original adw.

go launcher seems bloated for me. dun why. never get a hang of this.

zeam is very fast! and minimal. lacks of customization but it got its purpose. minimal and fast!

Sense - no weather or stock apps can defeat this UI cpu hungry.

Touchwiz - the only way to view the weather is by using the widget. and some stuff like that also. but dang i'm still digging it. using the new v3 fancy widget pro and i love my TW until fede release the LPP update. i like it cuz finding apps in the launcher is easy. go launcher and adw have the horizontal too but the icons will appear small. and sense is vertical launcher, which i cant find my apps fast.

what about SPB 3D shell? Any feedback?

Hi guys,

To root my SGS2, between One Click Root and Unroot versus Chainfire Root, which one would you recommend?

I have read Page 1, and I know how to proceed with either methods...just that I'm not too sure which method to use.

Appreciate some feedback. Thanks

I have difficulty finding XWKF1 Insecure Kernel. Tried the XDA thread but the downlink don't seem to be working.

Can someone advise how I can get it?

Thanks

Edit: Since some of you recommended Chainfire Root...I guess I don't have to search high and low for the XWKF1 insecure kernel...

yes. js use cf-root. easiest imo. js use the ojv kf1 one. should be fine.

Thanks, I have downloaded Chainfire's OJV KF1 file....will do the rooting tomorrow sweat.gif sweat.gif

Btw, after rooting with Chainfire's root, next time if I want to unroot to claim warranty, what is the best way?

Just flash the Stock ROM XWKF1 (from Samfirnware) again?

Thanks
