@Gurvin Abruzzi -

Viber uses about 0.25MB per minute of call.

* And by the way - video calling in Viber is something we are considering these days, as well as Viber for PC smile.gif

both quite stable.

skype, like viber, if u call using internet its free. but u have to pay if u call your traditional phone line (mobile or fixed). but its quite cheap and u save a lot if overseas call.

skype and viber compete on voice call. but skype takes way too much battery and memory compared to viber. skype is not meant to be "always on" unlike viber.

Unfortunately Viber does not support Playbook. We are considering developing official compatibility with Playbook in the future, and we invite you to stay tuned for news and updates on this topic through our official Facebook page smile.gif

how does viber make their money i wonder?

i suspect...

viber will follow skype when skype first started out -- meaning there will be a professional version that features better security, etc...

this is seeing how viber is maintaining a very 'professional' and business path. you dun get emoticons and viber's call logs, etc seems to also include actual calls and sms made directly from the phone. so the direction could be a replacement for the default dialer and messaging. biggrin.gif

my speculation anyway...

Haha.. we're not a "charitable" organization. Currently, Viber's focus is on adding platforms, features and integrating with more platforms, as well as improving overall system performance. At the same time, we are working on additional premium services that will generate revenue once they become available. The basic Viber service - Viber to Viber phone calls and text messages - will ALWAYS be free.

@syarif -
Viber does not support Symbian operating system yet (the OS on Vivaz). We are working these days on Symbian support, and we hope to complete it soon smile.gif We'll keep you posted with news.

To Viber users, I would like to ask you some questions.

I am facing the following issue with Viber.

I am using Android 4.0.4 ICS on my Sony Ericsson Live With Walkman smartphone.

When I use Viber to call a person, if that person (the call recipient) answer my call, there is no problem. But, if that person reject my call, the status of viber call still "Ringing", and I did not hear any "busy tone".

I reported this issue to Viber through an online form. Viber team responded through email and said my phone model is not under the supported device list. The list of supported Android device can be found at http://helpme.viber.com/index.php?/Knowled...em-requirements.

I understand that Viber development team may not be able to test every Android devices. So, my question is that anyone of you facing same issue? If yes, is your device in the list of supported device?

I am just asking question. No offence.

Hi,
As you mentioned yourself, Viber unfortunately does not officially support your device (as written in the link you provided). This is probably the reason for the problem.

We hope to attend to more and more devices and test Viber on them officially in the future. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience.

That's why I am asking whether anybody using supported devices facing the same issues.

I would like to ask that when someone call us through viber network but we rejected the call, will viber on our phone send any acknowledgement to the server or caller's device to tell the server or caller's device about we rejected the call? Will the caller's device receive such acknowledgement?

In other forums, I found some users (including iOS user) facing the same problem.

Anyway, thanks for attending to my issue. But, if you can test whether my issues occur on supported device or not, I will appreciate.

Currently, if you call someone through Viber and they reject the call, you will get no indicator for this (your call will continue ringing).
In the future we are considering to add a feature that alerts you somehow that the call has been rejected, but we are still unsure about it.

Meanwhile, we invite you to enter our Feature Request page and post your suggestion there, or join an existing similar suggestion. The more people join on a request, the faster it will become reality smile.gif

You can find it here: http://helpme.viber.com/index.php/Knowledg...r-a-new-feature
