just sharing...
i still have viber installed but i have not used it for months. none of my contacts message or call me via viber. group messaging is finally here... but kinda late, no? lots of people who wanted such features have already gone to whatsapp and line. when i try to get people to install viber, they ask "what's so special & why install one more apps?"... viber... still lacks emoticons. i think emoticons are useful... graphical way of expressing one's emotions. take a look at line. amazing emoticons/ stickers. viber... you guys started out good. messaging and voice calls. but others have really overtaken you guys. line can do group chat and have video call functions. i'm really hoping you guys can speed up and bring something special and unique to viber. i still have it installed. i still hope there are better things to come... |

@Hico -
Thank you for the report. Please use this direct link to deliver this info to our Support Team, so they can look into it: http://bit.ly/ukGVJ0 Thanks in advance @mydragoon - We are continuously improving, and we believe that we offer today a very simple and user-friendly HD service. There are many services similar to Viber out there in the world, but many many tens of millions of users are motivating us to keep improving and developing @ywkwy - Bluetooth on Android is not available for now. We are working hard to implement BT services into Viber, and we hope to have news soon. We apologize for the temporary inconvenience :/ |

My GF is using Viber on her Iphone4s. This is her complaint:
QUOTE "In the earlier version, when someone is typing and replying to me using viber, i can see a message/prompt stating that he is typing. I would normally wait for him to type and send the viber reply to me. However, since i updated to 2.2, i find this function missing. Hope you can bring it back. Thanks. Btw, how do i uninstall 2.2 and revert back to the previous version because i really want the above-mentioned function badly. " Can you look into it, please? I have also forwarded the same complaint to Viber site. This post has been edited by galantorian7116: Jul 26 2012, 10:53 AM |

@jwyong001 -
Thanks for the kind compliments. Our messaging features will keep growing and improving, so there's a lot more to expect in the future @galantorian7116 - The "is typing..." function should still be very much working on the 2.2 version, both in private message windows, and and Group Messaging. We've just tested it on iPhone and found it working Do both sides of the message conversation have the latest version of Viber installed? |

@ramz -
Viber also provides a calling service, in addition to messaging. Please bear that in mind. In addition, please note that you can choose to exit Viber at any time and still remain available for calls and texts (though it's not recommended by us because it lowers your availability). About the battery consumption: please make sure that Viber is the cause for the battery drain by isolating Viber (having no other apps running) on a device with stock ROM (custom ROMs may cause this problem). We conduct strict testings in our labs with several devices and other than when making a call (when it is natural for the battery to be used), we did not come across any significant battery drain when Viber was simply running in the background. Furthermore, over the course of over 15 hours, on average the battery use was only 2%. You can find additional information on tests performed by Viber users themselves, which show similar results, at: http://whrl.pl/Rc0APn @vuetnam - Yep, that's right I’d like to reiterate the commitments we made when we launched the company: 1. The Viber software will always be free. 2. Viber for iPhone, Android, or any other device will never display any ads. 3. Viber to Viber calls & texts will always be free. 4. We will never sell, rent or in any other way abuse your personal information. |

Added on July 31, 2012, 2:11 pm QUOTE(Moogle Stiltzkin @ Jul 31 2012, 01:43 PM) i rely heavily on skype for video. skype has lousy competitors in the video chat space. ooVoo, Tango are like yuck so far.This post has been edited by ramz: Jul 31 2012, 02:11 PM |
