Skrtel is our 1st choice center back when we finish 2nd under Rafa, just saying.

Maybe I'm wrong but I say based on last season performance. Carra still a good defender despite aging and become a bit slow but Skertel is a mistake prone. If you targeting mid table finish, then Skertel can be excellent to your team. But I really hope Liverpool can finish Top 4 again, get back the old time rivals memories  biggrin.gif

Suddenly, Skrtel is mistake prone pulak.. Dude, show us stats, don't just talk.. doh.gif

I guess ppl will never appreciate defenders hard work especially when they don't score goals. Carra and Skrtel are not goal scoring defender, if the team lose a game, they get all the blame.

Why don't you also suggest a defender that never made any mistake before?

I think we need a world class defender like agger. If agger is fit he will be picked above skrtel to pair with carra.Thats my best defence pairing.

One of the reasons we didnt win in 08-09 was because of agger being injured for most of the time.Kyrgiakos is decent back up but not good enough play every game.

But keeping agger to play for full season isnt likely going by his past records.Thats why we need a good defender.Personally i would sell skrtel along

with other deadwoods(poulsen, jova, degen) to raise money for a top class CB like cahill.

I'd prefer to play Skrtel and Agger.
Carra has attitude but he doesn't have the skill and pace.
Carra is getting slow. His days are numbered.

You missed out on Carra being motivated, committed, experienced, and has the ability to read the game better than most CB in the BPL. He may lack pace and technical ability but his defending is no nonsense and he gets the job done. He is still one of the best around and I see him playing for another 2 - 3 years at least. Its players like him we need in the team.

Still not happy about our deadwood situation.poulsen+jova+maxi+cole+insua could get us about 10-12million.

Can use this money for a cb.Money for lb however should come from owners. The important aspect of selling the dross is freeing up the wage bill rather than

the money we get for them.

This is probably the strongest team for a friendly minus Gerrard, Suarez and Lucas that Kenny are going to put in for tomorrow's game.

QUOTE
Kenny Dalglish is set to call upon the services of a number of senior first-team stars for Monday night's friendly with Valerenga in Norway – a match you can watch live on LFC TV Online.

The likes of Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger are ready to join new boys Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Jordan Henderson on the flight from John Lennon Airport to Oslo later this afternoon having missed Thursday's trip to Galatasaray.

Dalglish confirmed to Liverpoolfc.tv: "Pepe will come with us to Norway and play some part, Glen Johnson should be ready for a game, we think Daniel Agger will be back as well and we will also have Charlie, Jordan and Stewart to play."

Jova got for free... Maxi got for free.. Cole was free too!
Poulsen 3 million i guess...
And now you want to sell them and roughly guess to have 10 to 12 million profit?
Guess you would be the only buyer =.="

Getting rid of them for free is already good enough!
Still want money coming in for the players that comes in free earlier stage?

Cant agree more but I dont think Maxi and Insua deserved in that category.

Their salary itself worth around 15-8million a year. Imagine we can save that amount for another player smile.gif

Skrtel is not the same after his injury, made a couple of grave schoolboy mistakes which resulted in goals concede last season.
I never rate Carra, i dont like his style of play, hoofing the ball aimlessly at every opportunity, dwelling in throw ins and passing. I also cannot condone his role in getting rid of Rafa.
I believe the defence had gone backwards after big Sami left us, not only he is a leader on the pitch, he probably is one in training as well guiding the other defenders.

And who are we to judge players based on some Youtube videos when there are tons of scouts and coaches from across the Europe (or England at least) analysing those players at every opportunity?

Let the managers manage. Period.

We do what we do best. Support the club. rclxms.gif
