QUOTE(Duke Red @ Jul 19 2011, 03:12 PM) I think we come from the same period. To be honest, I only started getting serious the past 10 years or so despite supporting the team for just over 20 years. Without the internet it was hard to get any information at all. Like you said, my only resource was MATCH and SHOOT. My favourite section was the player ratings page because they also included a synopsis of the match. i remember when they used to give out those small rectangular roughly 5cmx3cm cards with player info on them, think it was a chewing gum that had it.The fact that King Kenny has returned to the club will hopefully spur younger fans to read up and find out why he's so revered not just because of what he did on the pitch, but also off it. It was nice to see banners like the Spirit of Shankly one at Bukit Jalil. Also, there was one with the faces of Shankly, Paisley, Fagan, Houllier and Rafa which was nice. Good that appreciation for the past was shown. The problem with the "glory glory Man Utd" song is most fans think it's a chant. It's actually a pretty long song. Same applies for some Liverpool fans I know as well. They know the chorus to YNWA but that's it. They don't know the other bits. Not only was traffic on the roads bad, the human traffic at the bridge near the LRT station was bad as well. Didn't bother driving home immediately after. Had dinner first while waiting for traffic to clear. then later came those sticker books etc. and we also had the news of the world annuals also. btw, we walked around the lrt station bypassing the bridge...its a longer walk but got out much faster. traffic also we parked at the condos behind endah parade...clear roads all the way |

QUOTE(hellfye @ Jul 20 2011, 11:47 AM) Lol.Something that has been lingering in my mind for a long time.Sorry but i can tell you girls and women alike dont really like liverpool. there was a time when there were more girls supporting LFC cos of morientes Most i would say is arsenal for true supporters. There is also a fair share for chelsea. Most of them i know who came to bukit jalil only wore liverpool jersey because of their bfs' and husbands'. i have to somewhat agree wit u.. my gf only wear liverpool jersey bcoz she is wit me.. she supports arsenal FYI.. asked y support arsenal.. simple answer.. their players all handsome handsome.. hahahahaha.. quite true actually.. Added on July 20, 2011, 12:02 pmbtw, these our fans are bigger than theirs, more history blah blah is getting boring. everyone needs heroes, everyone needs a team to look up to. if LFC are not winning, of cos not many will want to support them. that's why they all go MU. it is imho, that there are quite a few ppl who supported LFC in the 90s when they werent winning anything, have a motivating factor that some friend of theirs supported MU so they chose to go the opposite direction... Chelsea also has somewhat of a history, not like they just suddenly appeared from nowhere.
afterall they did win a FA cup and league cup during the Shankly era i'm also pretty sure everyonw can name the managers from shankly til now, but how many of us actually know who the manager of LFC was before Shankly? i bet if i asked that question outside, probably 1 out of 20 will be able to answer it...and that's probably being generous. |

Try youtube those that are on 2nd and 1st row, you'll heard the crowd singing loud n clear not everyone knows the lyrics by heart Even then towards the end of the song where everyone know the lyrics, it's loud and clear. YNWA~~ not my pic btw. |

QUOTE(daidzz @ Jul 28 2011, 02:12 PM) from what i heard, LSCM are no longer official, and it has nothing to do with the other clubs.they have even removed all traces of the word 'official' from their website, headers, logos etc. |

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Aug 9 2011, 06:26 PM) Just noticed that after all the hype and excitement about Ince's son, Tom Ince in reserves, we actually giv him leave on free to Blackpool. Wow? well he needs games, and with both suarez and carroll around who both have at least 6yrs left in them, Ince will be 25yrs then and probably still wouldnt have broken into the first team. |

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Aug 9 2011, 09:08 PM) Still, to let him leave on free is a bit weird, isn't it? After all, he is one of the bright prospect tipped to be in the first team in few years time. his contract expired and he didnt accept an extension, so free la.Initially, I thought it was a loan deal, only to find out that it's a permanent deal with him signing 2 years deal. previous contract also he didnt accept cos his daddy said not to. |
