QUOTE(Everdying @ Aug 17 2011, 02:24 PM) here's my opinion of that article. well we are not blaming any player, its just that the positioning of the player need to improve, just basing on the pictures that was posted already. before the first pic, you can see Lucas TRYING to get the ball off Sessegnon. Lucas in red circle, Henderson in black circle. [attachmentid=2391397] few seconds later, and he's still TRYING to get the ball. [attachmentid=2391398] after that he says f*** it, let Henderson handle Sessegnon [attachmentid=2391399] so is it any fault of Henderson that he went out of position when our DEFENSIVE midfielder couldnt close Sessegnon down? imo, credit should be given to Sessegnon or just poor defensive abilities by ALL our midfielders. for sunderland's goal...you can see Henderson was placed correctly. Lucas no need to say la, imo i think he should've moved more towards the edge of the box. [attachmentid=2391406] overall i think henderson is a good buy, so as andy caroll |

QUOTE(account_manager @ Aug 17 2011, 05:09 PM) never seen astro showing any youth matches, except for the world cup recently.Added on August 17, 2011, 8:37 pm QUOTE(schizo_kid @ Aug 17 2011, 08:05 PM) well we are not blaming any player, its just that the positioning of the player need to improve, actually it should be a team effort.overall i think henderson is a good buy, so as andy caroll someone drifts out of position, someone else should drift in and cover rather than just stay static around where they think they should always be. when u got wingers / backs going forward down the wings, the defensive midfielder should drift over and provide cover which is something that both alonso and masch did extremely well back then. No matter how, the goal was resulted of mistake of RB.
I am not blaming the RB entirely, just it is clearly that RB was not marking his man and now aware there was opponent behind him. Henderson has no fault on this (positioning), it is RB duty to guard the area, since there is only 1 Sunderland player on the attacking or inside the penalty box. If there is 2 opponent attacking player at right side, lurking on goal, then, yes, it means Henderson was not helping out in defending, then may be there is a case. |

QUOTE(skeleton202 @ Aug 17 2011, 09:49 PM) the upfront oso nid to be blame.. To be able to challenge the top, team must have ability to seal the game with at least 2 goals lead, when you are on top time, especially on first half time.we can score many in 1st half but thx to those poor shot my by our player... 2nd half the upfront is dead then the opponent start to control the game.. surely cant blame all on defensive cover You cannot possibly have 90min full throttle and full pace/high tempo, so must able to seal the game during that period. The rest of time, more like seeing out the game only. So ability to see the game out also quite crucial. Leading 1 goal is always vulnerable to sucker punch or some special, lucky moment, or single mistake that can cost dearly. There was lack of leadership on second half, somebody need to influence the team and bring out the team morale after conceding the goal time, and play with more urgency. Wow, amazed at how Barton single handedly made two players serve 3 matches ban. No wonder people keep calling him badboy barton. Arrogant, act like a prick, nonetheless a good footballer.

QUOTE(skeleton202 @ Aug 17 2011, 11:52 PM) arda went to atletico madrid already. anyways, what dalglish n commolli wants in our transfers are players who already proved to be a success in bpl and also value in terms of appearances and other stats. downing was present the whole of last season, adam was by far the big fish in blackpool and enrique has been a consistent performer in newcastle. if we are to go for the likes or arda turan and juan mata, it would be when we are in the champions league. not to risk 15-20mil to see them struggle with the robust environment of english football and also adapting in terms of weather, place and no winter break. for henderson and carroll, its obvious we bought them with an eye for the NEXT 5-8 years, not THIS SEASON only. heck, lucas took about 2 seasons to find his feet, back then everyone gave them stick, n now ? he's like 85% among the first name on the team sheet ? esp during big matches. |

Even though Arsenal losing two of their 1st lineup players (Gervinho & Song), losing their captain (Cesc), going to lose their star player last year (Nasri), and their young English player doubtful (Wilshire), they look rather low on morale...but remember, injured dogs bite back harder. They may put 110% effort and try to beat us.
They still have RvP, and you never know when the likes of Arshavin and Rosicky find back their form and start kicking our butt lol. We need to stay focus and exploit their weakness and not wasting chances. I think the main problem last week was we didn't take our chances and we leaked in a wonderful volley which I doubt many can do it in a regular basis. But if we don't start scoring goals, Arsenal sure can punish us. |
