Relax fellas. By tradition, we always seem to have a slow start and this season is no different and especially considering we have bought some new players. Buying new players don't necessarily mean we're going to start steamrolling teams. Almost half the team only had several hours of having played together so it's no surprise that are still issues need to be sorted out. Realistically, they need time gelling and getting used to whatever system Kenny has set in place. It's way to early to begin judging our performance.

although we spent alot of money but the problem is do the money is well spent?

based on our transfer fee it's like we are buying Myvi for rm70k, Inspira for rm120k, persona for 80k

It is because we manage to sell iswara for 40k and got a new millionare owner with big heart.

Fully agree.I can't wait for gerrard to be back in the team.I think we might see adam relegated to the bench then.

Yes, for too many seasons we have had a slow start.
I wish we could break the curse this season.

i think henderson is a lousy buy. he plays naturally in the middle but we are overcrowded in that department.

still mind-boggling that henderson cost more than what man u payed for cristiano ronaldo

Which made it much more comfortable in midfield and defence. The players are faster in their passing.
Its just that in 2nd half they were like playing the ball around with no attacking mindset, even when we conceded.

i was very dissapointed wit Flanagan...dont knw wat happen to him but seems tat he was to cautious and made lot mistakes..shud have Kelly...and tat sunderland guy dont knw his name but think its Sesegnon something was very lively wit his dribbling skils and Lucas cant get near him at all...good buy for Sunderland though...but anyway this is the 1st game and maybe we shud carry on and move on wit this...lots to come from Reds...

i never rate henderson at all.. but actually it's a fair game... sunderland have more shot attempted than us.. so we might lucky not to get lost 2-1 cz of gyan noob header...

next game : drop henderson and in aquaman... 4-3-3 formation...
we dont need gerrard replacement as we still have aquaman on same par with gerrard with 3years younger
*
I am not backing up Henderson but yesterday game he didnt get to play in his favourite place that is CM or CAM , he looks much better playing there when against Valencia and yesterday he just become shadow of Downing where Downing play superbly on both wings.(Although I know he just contribute little but you can count how many long shoot made by lucas and Charlie yesterday instead passing to Henderson)

QUOTE(digilife @ Aug 14 2011, 10:27 AM)
report card for new players

Henderson , failed
Adam , pass
Downing, pass
Enrique, pass

KD should hav start Kelly instead of Flanagan and he also hav to buy a replacement for Agger, he is too slow
*
It just a test and we only know the final report card next May 2012. If Agger is slow , I dont know what to say with Carra.

Im slightly concern for top 4 place in EPL this season....after what we showed in the pre-season and last match despite our huge amount of transfer fees this season.....
*
The postive things are we played really well on 1st half and on 2nd half , Sunderland midfield just pawned Lucas and Charlie(where in my opinion both of them dont know either to help in defense or attack , this is first time they play together in a competitive match)

QUOTE(solstice818 @ Aug 14 2011, 01:37 PM)
I have no idea why we play Herderson instead of Kuyt... Of Flanno and Kelly, Kenny picked Flanno and it backfired. Kelly is always the more reliable one although Flanno get more games last season.

Overall, I think there are still rooms for improvement. Playing 4 new kids with one of them only arrived yesterday is somehow gambling. The result is fair enough although we could have nicked away 2 more points. Quite disappointed with Carrol. Still haven't see the Carrol that run around for newcastle, the energy he contributed on the pitch for Newcastle seems gone with the 35m price tag.

As for Suarez, speechless on the penalty. Would prefer Mr Reliable Kuyt to take it though...but he was surprisingly dropped to bench.Anyway, looking forward to next game v arsenal. They will then probably without Fab, Nasri and Gervinho serving ban. So, we must take all the advantages given to us and nick the 3 points hopefully!
*
I think Carroll is following what the coach tell him. When in Newcastle, most of the time they are being attacked so I can see why he always drop down to help the defense. But in Liverpool , I think he should stay at the top of attack (targetman) where Downing , Enrique , Charlie , Lucas , Kuyt cross can reach him.

People not complaining how much MU pay for M.Carrick.Henderson is still young and IMO he have more potential than M.Carrick.

There must have been many posts about the game already and many opinions expressed already. Sorry if I am repeating stuff but i just need to express my own opinions and thoughts.

KD has been rather unorthodox - no doubt he really means business, but very few managers will start a match with 4 new boys in key positions and two players who recently returned from a hectic summer programme. Both Lucas and Suarez, as well as Enrique also missed pre-season and I think this has somewhat of an effect.

Of course if the penalty and Downing's superb attempt had gone in, we would all be singing praises of KD and the team.

Where individual players are concerned, I think far too much has been expected of Henderson. He seemed reluctant to play and repeated passed backwards, much to our frustration. Too much was also expected of Flanagan after his superb few games last season and his mistake of leaving Larrson totally unmarked turned out to be fatal.

It's early days, but it's painful to draw a home game. On the other hand, it's a terrible reminder to KD that money cannot buy success and a disappointment for us to wake up to harsh reality.

carrick was much more established when mu brought him, problem is he did not improved as expected. potential alone should not worth as much as $20m and we have plenty of covers on that area so the $20m spend was unnecessary.

now that henderson is a liverpool player, we should support him as much as everyone else. smile.gif

The new signings will improve as the League progress, however a win over Arsenal next week will take the pressure off KD, lets hope for the best thumbup.gif

One thing I felt very disappointed by last night was what I would call the 'bad habit' of passing the ball to the 'best player' - not sure if it's out of respect for the 'best player' or being afraid to take responsibility.

I'm referring to the many times when the ball was passed to Suarez unnecessarily, and also when Suarez was not even in a good position. This 'bad habit' is seen most often when Gerrard is playing. The ball will be passed to him whether or not he's in good form.

KD has to stop this and get the others to take ownership.

our draw against sunderland doesnt look bad at all after two of our closest rivals (arsenal & chelsea) both having a draw as well... we are not 2 points behind in this "race"...
