just flashed dark xxkg2 deodexed rom. phone is a lot more snappy compared to villain 2.0. the rom is clean and i opt not to install any samsung apps.

One note though, after flashing the rom, it is not rooted, i flashed cf root 4.1 kg1 to root it. Currently am using titanium backup to restore all my apps.
*

Why didn't use CF/root XX_OXA_KG2 ver 4.1.?
I thought that one for KG2

anyone know how to perform reverse-tethering ?   (using my laptop's internet connection to allow my sgs2 to connect to the internet via usb cable)
*
Download a free software called "Connectify" http://www.connectify.me/. You plug a LAN cable (with internet connection to your laptop), run Connectify and it'll turn your Wifi into hotspot so your SGS can connect to your laptop to use the internet smile.gif

Connecting SGS2 via USB to laptop is not reverse tethering, it's called USB tethering sweat.gif Reverse tethering is turning your usual wifi in your laptop into a hotspot instead.

Have you tried going to Settings -> Wireless & Network -> Tethering and portable hotspot -> USB Tethering (Check) ?

I haven't use the USB tethering before but maybe this is a good place to start.

Also, i dont really understand, if you can connect your laptop to wifi, then your SGS must be within the same wifi range right? Why you need USB tether when you can connect directly to the wifi router? tongue.gif

that is to allow the PC to use the phone's connection. i need my phone to use my PC's connection, hence 'reverse'-tethering.

@kayama if you manage to find any form of solution to this headache problem do inform me yea.. i've been searching high and low for a 'software' solution

I see, i didn't know that.

In that case, the only way of reverse tethering i can think of is via laptop Wifi, have never heard or tried reverse tethering via USB :S

I've just received this phone an hour ago.
Ordered it at a Samsung Digital Centre in Nusa Bestari, Johor Bahru. The phone was supposed to arrive on Friday, but the salesman gave me a surprise early call to pick the phone up today.
Now I'm charging it. smile.gif
