Congrat LuffyPSP for your Unboxing video. Remind me when firsttime i had the phone in my hand.
Did you test the screen before you bring it home checking for any defect.? You can check using LCD screentest by dial *#*#0*#*#* and see wether all the colour, vibration, speaker etc are okay. |

QUOTE(zildj @ Jul 19 2011, 12:38 AM) I've checked already but the pixel is too small.only can see in complete dark.it's a very small red dot on my screen Did you try the LCD test.? There got one test 'touch' to check for pixel. If it stated PASS then it quite hard to claim for warranty but if you FAIL then run to SME as soon as possible :-P |

QUOTE(zildj @ Jul 19 2011, 12:51 AM) how to do the test? Wow.! Can get headache by just reading Samsung Warranty Statement. Hmm, it stated if less than 7 dead pixel meaning the screen is not defected.this is what samsung say. Dead Pixel Limited Warranty Statement Dead Pixel warranty is only applicable to TFT- LCD/LED /PDP & Monitors. The dead pixel warranty applies when your TFT- LCD Monitor contains more than 7 dead pixels within the standard warranty period of your TFT- LCD Monitor which SAMSUNG will exchange the LCD panel/module, provided that the defective unit is returned to SAMSUNG complete with full accessories and original packaging. Zero Bright Defect (ZBD ) only applies when it occurs within 7 working days from purchased date , regardless of dot quantity, the defective LCD panel/module shall be replace by SAMSUNG . Bright Dot Defect occurs when pixels are always lit or "ON ". Black Dot Defect occurs when pixels are always dark or "OFF ". Why don't you try DL 'Screen Test' app from market. It's much more comprehensive and much easier to check for line bending and bleached colour. That way you can start counting how much is your dead pixel. |

From http://samfirmware .webs.com/
samsunglettercode.htm Official coming in a next few days. Patient has it virtue. Welcome 2.3.4 Added on July 19, 2011, 3:10 amYou'll have to wait Chainfire or supercurio to make a new kernel based on XXKG2 because this firmware is Android 2.3.4 and not 2.3.3. If you flash the official firmware you will lose your root. Or you can wait for Darky to release his magic :-P This post has been edited by waveweaver: Jul 19 2011, 03:10 AM |

QUOTE(ivanlmh @ Jul 19 2011, 05:14 PM) http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...714413&p=2r21 Yes but that article was base on 2.3.3 firmware. Did you still got a connection problem after update to 2.3.4 firmware.? Hmm, i wonder if Samsung had fix that in their new firmwareInteresting if anyone is facing the data connection freezes problem- It only happens if you are switching between H+ and 3G. I faced that problem, and once I applied this fix, it seems to have fix my problem for now |

New dawn coming in after new firmware emerge. But from the way i see it, if you are a Happy Flashing type - flashing left and right trying every custom rom (God i love that phrase ~lol~) than it's better to stay at 2.3.3 firmware for the time being because almost all custom rom are based on that firmware.
If you are a Stock rom loving type that like the browser hw acceleration and just a few important apps like Titanium Backup, Market Enabler and some essential widgets, it's better to upgrade to the new 2.3.4 firmware then root it for a smoother ride. Please correct me if i'm wrong. |

QUOTE(weeluvmal @ Jul 19 2011, 06:40 PM) Is it.? The first leak 2.3.4 was made by ficeto (Darky team member) on July 09th and he built a custom rom based on this leak version. But even then XXKG1 didn't make it as official build version, only baseband. That mean all custom rom before July 09th are using 2.3.3 firmware. Darky himself leak the XXKG2 2.3.4 early this morning followed by Samfirmware. And this time it is an official firmware. I doubt there's a single custom rom that was made by official firmware up to this minute. |

QUOTE(LuffyPSP @ Jul 19 2011, 06:30 PM) Hehe., good for you LuffyPSP but there are other ppl that consider Samsung put a lot of crap in its UI. Samsung App can hog quite a lot of RAM and slow the phone. But everybody have difference taste so it's up to you if you want to keep and use it or delete it or freeze it if you're rooted and have Titanium Backup. |
