To all Sifus, I realy need help here, I've got a problem with Kies not syncing my contacts in my phone... When it hits 10%, it says "Stopped loading contacts from GS I9100"

I've tried to search in the internet but noone seems to have a solution, and I cant find a FAQ question in the first post s I decided to post here, here is the screenshoot:

need to also remember to make fair comparison -- how long have you been using SP and how long you compared when phone without SP.

typically (though might not apply to you), when phone is without SP, ppl usually wash their hands before touching. after apply SP, eating french fries also can molest the phone with the same fingers.

plus, if compare with only 1-2days without SP, personally, i feel its not a good comparison.

i use pure onlygps without data or wifi and my car highly tinted on all mirrors~~ never got more than 20 seconds to lock.

just thought i'd ask you guys... how do you browse for apps?

i noticed the web-based... its usually displaying top apps only. i read there are like 500k apps... assuming i have the time... is there a way to browse thru them? i remember trying on the web 1-2 days back, but after like 20pages (i think), it does not display any more...

Maybe area problem..I will test it later..fresh cold start? or you use GPS before?

Heard a lot of people complaining bout it but why Samsung never do anything bout it? I dont understand why this one simple contact thingy can cause a problem... I'm a first Samsung and Android user and I felt irritating with this Kies... I never had this kind of simple contacts problem when I was using Nokia/Symbian...

Sigh.... now I cant even backup the phone because or the contact error... this is so sad -1 to Samsung and Kies...

a Q back to you is... what do you need kies for?

honestly, i installed it and found it totally useless.

plus, i did ask earlier on today... there is an option to check for phone software directly from the phone. is it safe to say this can also be used to detect and install the latest firmware? if so, i totally dun need kies at the moment. if i recall correctly, kies can useful for those rooting, right?

i test it out just for you. haha~~ even under my rooftop still lock quickly. i rarely use gps at my hometown. i use it when going to KL or JB only, which i'm not right now.

Added on July 29, 2011, 4:09 pmbackup contacts using the phone manually la. and sync it to google too. call logs use Call logs backup and restore, messages use SMS backup and restore, apps use titanium if root. if not use mybackup pro. other stuff copy manually to pc lor. no need kies~~

If you have another way of backing up the phone, can you mind sharing please...

because for me, as a first time user of Samsung/Kies, and an ex-user of Nokia/Symbian, I expect the software which came with the phone SHOULD be working well with the phone so that we can safely backup our phone easily as for Nokia/Symbian/Ovi...

i think i shared a few pages back... Android is all about Google. So for contacts, sync back to your Gmail. It took me like 2-4weeks to actually clean up my Gmail contacts. but since i know I'd be getting an Android phone at that time, I did the clean up first. Downloaded Gmail contacts, exported another copy from Outlook (which was from my old phone), merged them one by one on Excel, cleaned up the fields, then uploaded back.

now i'm also using Google Calendar.

what else to backup? SMS? see reply by earlier member on that. same with apps backup. as for data... i just copy and paste la...

all manufacturer give shit software for us la. nokia with the Ovi, Samsung with Kies, etc.

i would say only Apple have the itunes working well with its devices. BUt having to need itunes for everything f*cked it up. it pain in a**~~

personally... i din think it was that hard to decide between those two...

I hv been using without SP for few weeks, whereby only applied the SP yesterday.
On top of thumb print & dusts, with SP, it is little bit hard to sweep coz there is rubber feel where it stop the gesture

sorry... too lazy to check back what SP u used... what was it?

i used Ultra Crystal Clear or sth like that... seems ok. dun have rubber feel. as for prints, its there but its quite normal la... coz i dun wash my fingers anymore before touching the screen. nothing tissue paper can't wipe off...

that's the glue, after awhile it will disappear

I heard that we can backup our contacts, calendar, notes etc in our S2 to Google.

anyone kind enuff to guide me how to?

hmmm.. maybe I think it's time for me to learn how to use Google contacts syncing... something it's very difficult as you know it may mixed up with the mail contacts and need to clean up and everything but I think I have to learn it now...

P/S: I didnt have problem syncing contacts at the first time, BUT when I export my N97 Nokia contacts to SDcard and then import it into SGS2 and the problem occurs... Anyone know what's the exact problem with this contacts moving?

and just now I tried to export my SGS2 contacts to SDcard, and then restored the contacts I backup at the first time, then Kies got no problem, and then I used Kies to import the contacts I exported from my SGS2 into SGS2 again, only 66 contacts out of 188 contacts were imported, and Kies still got no problem...
But then again I imported the contacts from my SDcard, 188 contacts were imported again, and then the SAME problem occur AGAIN...lol..I know it's a bit confusing but that's what I dd just now and it end up Kies only read 66 contacts of my 188 contacts but not the rest, fedup... and I'm still wondering WHY...

Later, I might try to TYPE IN those contacts in my Nokia N97 ONE BY ONE into my phone directly and see how Kies will read it... sigh...
