I bought my S2 from SenQ and as part of the package I was offered RM90 for a 16 GB Kingston microSD card.

I installed the card, but when I went to the Setting->Storage, I saw under SD card my TOTAL space only 14.89 GB!! Can anyone explain what has happened?

I have also moved several apps from the phone memory to SD card, when I went to Setting->Applications->Memory Usage, I saw that indeed under "On SD card", it displayed the apps I have just moved. However, at the very bottom of the screen there is this green color bar and it says SD card storage: 11GB free, 188 MB used. Wow... so now I lost another 3GB of SD card memory??

Furthermore, when I used the default file explorer (My Files) and browse to 'external_sd', I don't see files inside. Can someone please explain to me how all these things work?

Thanks
Ali

same applies. every memory/drives is like this. 16GB isnt the true one, they use 16GB but when you converted to more accurate value is 14,000,0000 ++ sumtin.byte maybe? i forgot lor, learnt it in networking class.

and 500GB isnt actually that. its 496GB only. EDIT : lower maybe, i forgot too~~

16GB is total raw, after formatted to any filesystem, you won't get the full 16GB doh.gif

Why on earth you wanted to move the app into sdcard? You have 2GB space for apps, plenty of space there. Furthermore, the internal sd is unique to Samsung since SGS1 which other phone will treat it as external sd (microsd).

Most other android phone will see the memory like.... internal rom (from 256MB to 1GB) for app -> external SD (memory card from 2GB to 32GB)

For SGS it will be like... internal ROM 2GB for app -> internal SD (MoviNAND / USB Storage) 12GB -> external SD (memory card from 2GB to 32GB)

In conclusion, "move app to sd" for other phone is the external SD; but for SGS, it is the internal SD.

tried straight away you asked, but bluetooth earphone though. shouldnt be no diff maybe? make sure your bluetooth keyboard is is compatible for multi-pairing or else need to reset it first so that it'll not be tied to previously paired bluetooth.

and yeah moving the sd will only make it slower and android will need to access sd card frequently to access apps, hence more battery consumption. but thats my theory. heard that one in one of Desire's thread.
