These are good as well:
14"
Acer Aspire 4755G, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2299
Asus A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(1GB)@RM2349[2.44kg]
Asus A43TA, AMD A6-3400M + AMD HD6550@RM1849
Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2299

15"
Acer Aspire 5560G, AMD A6-3400 + AMD HD6650@RM1899[2.6kg]
Dell Inspiron 15R, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT525M@RM2399
HP G6-1107TX, i5-2410M + AMD HD6470@RM2299

Thx for the quick reply.

Regarding the options you gave me, most of them is similar to each others. But the only stand out is Asus A43TA, AMD A6-3400M + AMD HD6550@RM1849. How does it compare to A53Sv ? If it is better in terms of performance then it will whole hell a lot better more.

Then, what is the difference between Asus A43Sv and Asus A53Sv ? only screen size different ? I think i will try to avoid Acer since many bad reputation on their laptops' quality.

The A43TA is very weak in terms of CPU, and also slightly weaker in terms of GPU (compared to the GT540m) nod.gif

Yeah, just size and weight difference between A43 and A53 nod.gif

I understand that Asus U36SD is using NVDIA 520M.

According to Anandtech, 520M is no better than Sandy Bridge's HD3000. So is it worth it to get a laptop with 520M at all?

I see, so the performance benefits are minimal, unless you overclock it of course.

It's not minimal, there is a difference which can only be felt with some real world testing and not just with synthetics.

Head to head:
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphi...List.844.0.html

Nvidia GT520M
http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForc...0M.43104.0.html

Intel HD3000
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-HD-Grap...00.37948.0.html

Compare the figures in the game testing section and you'll see that the GT520M edges the Intel HD3000 by some degree. Also, games still prefer a discrete solution compared to anything integrated.

Oh..was deciding between

Dell Inspiron 14R, i5-2410M + AMD HD6630@RM2299

And

Asus N43SL, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M@RM2699[2.4kg][Bang & Olufsen] *No USB3.0

Not sure how bad not having usb 3.0 is though..

In between these 2, Asus will get my vote.. the additional 1 year warranty is worth more than the availability of USB3.0 hehe laugh.gif

Toshiba haha~
But seriously I don't think the performance has got anything to do with the brand.... its affected by file size/quantity instead nod.gif
