QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jul 21 2011, 11:40 PM) Toshiba haha~ Your very wrong.... But thx anyway.......... earlier USB 3.0 drives only get about 50mbyte/sec sequential.......... (e.g. Buffalo, WD)But seriously I don't think the performance has got anything to do with the brand.... its affected by file size/quantity instead |

I agree with T.J. Mine one can reach 90 MBps easily when transferring hundreds of GB (mainly HD movie) from my internal hdd to exernal hdd using toaster type external casing. I use Samsung F3. Internally, sequential speed of this drive can reach more than 120 MBps.WD Pasport (2.5 inch) transfer speed up to 65-70 MBps. If small files, the transfer speed could degrade significantly. Yeah, that's true... transfer one folder that hav may many many many itty bitty folders and files inside... I know nuts about USB3.0, but that's the difference I observed when I transfer (i) movie files (ii) my small but many data files |

When you want to benchmark the actual throughput of file transfering you always need to test with a single large file, mulltiple file cause the transfer break into multiple session hence it added in lots of overhead, eventhough it appear as single session to user which files is transfering one by one. Is that making any sense to you?transfer one folder that hav may many many many itty bitty folders and files inside... |

wanna ask ur opinion...if you want a long battery life and fairly large screen, say 14-15.6 inch, and yet budget is your issue.
would you painfully fork out money to much more expensive laptop that cost 2.7-2.8k, or get a sub 1.7k laptop and get extra battery? |

I would go for the former option... Its not easy to take care of 2 batteries at once haha would you painfully fork out money to much more expensive laptop that cost 2.7-2.8k, or get a sub 1.7k laptop and get extra battery? Noneed Rm2.7k or 2.8k haha... Asus N43SL and TimelineX 4830Tg is around RM2.4k Or you could compromise abit and go for laptops with smaller screen, those will have longer battery life |

hi guys, Im looking for recommendations for a laptop with these main specs:
i7 , 2gb nvidia graphics card ( any out there without OPTIMUS preferably ) , 8gb ram One on my shortlist is the upcoming Asus N55SF since the N53sv is out of stock at the moment apparently. Oh and budget is about rm3.5k max 4k I guess, if needed...but preferably rm3.5k This post has been edited by faridz7: Jul 22 2011, 12:02 PM |
