i5 should be sufficient though for gaming purposes with relatively less heat too

All the N45/55SF are using the 'crippled' 144SP/128-bit GT555M.

QUOTE(Lance XIII @ Aug 11 2011, 11:19 AM) the difference between 'crippled' and 'pure' big anot ? Roughly 15% performance. But still a staggering 40% increase in performance on average for the 'crippled' over the GT540M. QUOTE(Ikmal91 @ Aug 11 2011, 11:30 AM) What does 'crippled' mean? Some parts of the GPU have been reduced in functionality and disabled to make it weaker.

Why the hell would they do that? Saving costs? Pure ones are expensive is it?

That is just downright ridiculous. Darn all these system engineers! So, either way, it's still stronger than the regular GT540M eh? Oh well, good enough for me!

It's the slight reduction in performance at this price or paying RM4.6k for the full version in the Alienware M14x..

I'd rather get me a i7 with the crippled GT555M. I mean, sure, you get amazing GPU power, but the the CPU power is just ridiculous at that point. But that's the whole idea of an Alienware right? Total gaming experience.
