Question: where do you source for a G5 case?
*
Somebody is selling the G5 case for RM500 but you probably can deal with him since the G5 is dead.

Guys, before you start your venture into hackintosh, compare the specs with available iMac, MacMini or MBP variants. If there pricing is not that much different, might as well go for the Apple stuffs rather than having a headache later on. Specs your rig, compare, and decide.

It means that the OS couldn't load. What OS you're trying to run on your MB? BTW, Hackintosh thread is for those who're trying to install OSX on other non-Apple platform. You may want to ask this in different thread to get attention.

hey guys im a noob...most of tonymacx86 ram are US based...anything similar to what we have locally?

thanks
*
What do you mean by 'most of tonymacx86 ram are in US'? You can use any RAM that your pc can take, I don't have any problem using RAM sourced locally.

Hello guys, I just got my first hackintosh build using my old pc EP45-UD3R but I wanna ask, how can I update my Yosemite without it become unbootable later. My current Yosemite is 10.10.3.
*
Make a copy/clone of your installation into another drive/partition and boot from there when you've problem. I'm using carbon copy cloner before but it is not free anymore.

Check your log, the error can be seen in the installer log. It probably looking for a certain directory or file to be copied over but failed to do so.

Check this:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/building-customa...ml#CustoMac_Pro

You might not get some of the things here like the RAM etc, replace them with a good brand and you'll be okay. Just make sure you're getting the supported motherboard and graphics card, they're the two most important ingredients to get your hackintosh running with less headache.

After few hours of more wasted time, I gave up sad.gif Just read that the UEFI implementation for my P8Z68-V PRO (1st GEN) is buggy. So, my Clover adventure stopped here.

Finally! Got el capitan installed with Clover but not fully using UEFI but heck, as long as it could boot and run normally, I'm happy smile.gif BTW, I did a fresh install. Now need to play around with the Clover Configurator.
