just sidetracking a bit...just love these. my top 5: -
The Walking Dead - if you love zombies and ppl hacking zombies, you''ll love it. seriously excellent acting from all the lead zombies. The zombie extras are kinda good too. Humans are cool too - but do note that some of the characters will tend to go missing, or die or change into zombies after a while. so just enjoy the ride and don't be too analytical about this drama. It is about brainless zombies. Period. Spartacus blood and sand - mainly coz of the hot women. All the back stabbing (literally!) elements admn are great too. Breaking bad - mainly coz of Jesse's non-stop cursing. The earlier season's are the best...coz if you can't enjoy the earlier seasons...forget about watching it. GOT - well...it's a LOTR-ish with lots of boobies and some weird incest storyline. Need I say more. True Blood - trashy American soap opera with lots of boobs and blood and gore. Again, just enjoy the ride coz it ain't festival-arty material. just my 2 sen This post has been edited by silbii: Aug 8 2014, 10:53 PM |

A new medical drama series The Knick directed by Soderbergh and featuring Clive Owen has kicked off. Getting some good reviews and has already been renewed for second season with 10 episodes. Can't wait to watch it later tonight.
QUOTE In New York City in 1900, the Knickerbocker Hospital operates with innovative surgeons, nurses and staff who have medicinal limitations to prevent staggeringly high mortality rates. Dr. John Thackery, the newly appointed leader of the surgery staff, battles his cocaine and opium addictions with his ambition for medical discovery and reputation among his peers. Harvard graduate Dr. Algernon Edwards must fight for respect within the all-white-populated hospital, as well as the racially charged city. While literally struggling to keep the lights on, the hospital attempts to attract a wealthy clientele, without sacrificing quality care. ![]() |

QUOTE(V3nz @ Aug 9 2014, 10:36 AM) Anybody watch True Blood here? i watched every episodes of it.. the 1st season was good, but went downhill.. its closer to romance-comedy than horror. pure entertainment, popcorn series.. they showed sookie's boobs, that worth my time..can you tell me what kinda show it is? except for vampire? or compare it with similar kinda show? except for vampire watched 2 opening episode of tyrant, an ok series. as a competent speaker of arabic, i find it awkward seeing arabs speaking english all the time. but i understood on why they did it.. for more serious series about middle east (palestin-israel), watch the honourable woman. uk made, pro israel of course. but suitable for the time we are in. |

I gave up on Tyrant after 3rd or 4th episode. I picked up The Honorable Woman and it's so much better. I binged watched all 6 episodes and loved it. This is a lot closer to Homeland in terms of spies and espionage. Maggie Gyllenhaal's performance is absolutely stunning - her British accent sounds really natural, never knew she had that in her.

Love the early 20th century set. Yeah i'm loving it. Kinda reminds me House, but darker and atmospheric. Combined with the techno beat, it kinda gives the show a rather unusual and unique tone. |

QUOTE(hfi @ Aug 17 2014, 12:29 PM) Hows Tyrant developing ? Has Barry turned to the dark side ? barry is boring, they all are.. hope they end it for good. ive got no interest if they move on for 2nd season. The latest ep of Honourable Woman is pretty crazy. Loved it. the honourable woman 7th episode are pretty good. i hope for 2nd season. QUOTE(MyMathsRomance @ Aug 17 2014, 01:49 PM) the strain not great but okay-ish. better than the walking dead and helix (deadly virus/ apocalypse /zombie genre).i prefer the last ship because military elements, which is cool.. |
