REIGN begins its second season with Mary and Francis at the helm of a nation burning.  France is rocked by the after effects of the plague – a disease that takes thousands upon thousands of lives across the land and ravages the stability of a nation.  From the ashes, powerful lords will rise, carrying out personal, religious and political vendettas, taking lives and tearing at Mary and Francis’ commitment to each other and to their people.  Friendships will be tested, loved ones murdered and alliances betrayed.  Meanwhile, a mysterious and deadly threat snatches victims from village streets and castle corridors, leaving evidence of savagery that looks like the work of monsters: mythical creatures who are the stuff of nightmares, but who may actually walk among us, doing the Devil's bidding.  REIGN is produced by CBS Television Studios and Whizbang Films/Take 5 Productions with executive producers Laurie McCarthy (“The Ghost Whisperer”), Frank Siracusa (“Beauty And The Beast”), John Weber (“Beauty And The Beast”) and Brad Silberling (“Moonlight Mile”).

As much as Kane would like to see all this drama happen, she revealed that she does not have enough energy to do the same thing that could last for a whole decade.

"On the other hand, doing the same show eight months out of the year for 75 hours a week for the next 10 years sounds exhausting!" she said. "It sounds exhausting. I can't even imagine, I would be living in Toronto forever, which is fine, but I like L.A. and I like my friends."Kane then mentioned how long she would like to see the series last.

"So I think we're going to get a good long run so I'm happy with like four or five years? Maybe?" she speculated.

Reign was renewed for a second season by The CW in February and will return to US television on October 2
