QUOTE(kEazYc @ Aug 12 2011, 07:19 PM) Biggest aperture = the lowest F number, which is crowned by LEICA NOCTILUX-M 50 mm f/0.95 ASPH, you wouldn't like to know the pricing. i'm saying for a beginner thats the fastest way to learn the basics of shutter speed for capturing motion without worrying about exposure. No i'm just guessing whether you're hinting that, i never say anything related to "feel like a pro" or something right? in school u learn abc first, not starting with jkl then go back abc right... so start from the beginning, learn basics of aperture then shutter etc, then how they relate to each other. also, there are some ppl who use manual just to feel like a pro, but when u see the exif its like they dont fully understand or dont want to understand the relations. eg. u see someone shoot and the exif shows f/5.6, 1/2000s, iso1600, and its just for shooting a normal scene. someone with better knowledge can drop iso to 200 and have shutter speed of 1/250 and still be ok. QUOTE(Andy214 @ Aug 12 2011, 07:29 PM) My was the body, so have to adjust the body.Whatever lens I put on its front focus. urs is D7000 also right? What I meant was, when they adjust, seems they adjust based on the lens they have, I don't know the actual process, but that's what I understand from them when I ask them because I want to make sure my camera is following the standard adjustment instead of adjust according to a lens. And seems it not a detail micro efficiency process as what I read in overseas forum, which is is very detail using some machine or something. maybe to them their lens is calibrated already? so after adjusting the sensor for the focusing issues, then they try their lens using a focus chart? and if its fine, guess in their experience most lenses will be fine also and nothing that the body AF fine tune cant handle. if its entry lvl body, then really dunno how |

nikon current lineup has no 55mm prime.
but for primes, apart from arguably better image quality depending on the lens, you can also get faster bigger apertures for a certain focal length while maintaining a smaller body size. |

35mm 1.8 is not super slow la, obviously cannot compare to the pro lenses, but still there are even slower ones out there.
for what its worth, its a decent AF, afterall its most likely not going to be used for shooting fast moving stuff anyway. |

QUOTE(jchue73 @ Aug 15 2011, 02:52 PM) Like I mentioned, the gel does not give exact WB during shoot. It makes the WB on the subject and the surroundings WB as close as possible. After that, you can tweak the WB in PP to give it more yellowish etc accordingly to your liking. didnt see the need to update the firmware as it fixes nothing that i use Great that Nikon took care of your problem. You never updated your firmware? Whoa... That's front focus. Not Ford Focus. |

QUOTE(celciuz @ Aug 21 2011, 09:56 AM) Did you see the latest on nikonrumors.com? Seems like this month is probably the EVIL systems only based on NR.com's prediction. I got GGS both stick on and 3rd gen.http://nikonrumors.com/2011/08/18/5050-nr-...r-coaster.aspx/ Added on August 21, 2011, 12:24 pmDeng, just noticed my D700's GGS got scratches. I guess bumped into my belt perhaps ._. Anyone with the 3rd gen? Any issue of dust getting inside? i dont use the 3rd gen anymore cos its just as good protection wise as original, just clearer view but with stupid design. if 3rd gen the bottom can clip on like original then sure i use, but it doesnt, so i just use the stick on since confirm nothing can get under it. |

QUOTE(gnome @ Aug 23 2011, 12:49 AM) It turns out what i have been suspecting all this time is true, there is something wrong with my 80200 two touch. Ask the nikon guy at klcc to take a look at it at he say there seems to be some loose element inside, need to be tighten or something. Repair cost ranges from 150-200+ i mentioned before that ur 80-200 should be sharp at 200mm |

QUOTE(lwliam @ Aug 24 2011, 10:24 AM) I only dare say this as I have had a hands on with vearn's D7000 yesterday and the menu digging is pretty tedious. Yes, I was refering to 'using other picture as base WB' function. The A700 was on par with D300, not so much with the D300s. actually in the D7000 there is a My Menu option where u can place your most frequently used settings, so its easily accessible from the first menu page.Even with Alpha's lower end model, there is only 1 extra button more than the higher Alpha models which is the selection of WB with the Fn button. |

btw, u do not have to go thru the menu to set WB.
on the left side of the body there is a WB button, press it and select which WB setting u need using the back control dial. |
