According to the several group buy threads at the Autoworld forum, those were the specs indicated as well.

Price stated in those group buys were RM138,888

I'm still in dilemma if issit worth to get Jetta? Frankly, it definitely not looking as good as golf (my point of view) but the interior and engine are good...

Is it worth to sacrifice a lil bit of outlook for interior and engine??

Will visit Das Auto before I make my final decision....

depends on your need bro...it is estimated to be 20k cheaper..bigger rear room space, larger boot..same engine..of course it is not sporty nor does it have the bixenon lights n drl..but for that price..i only can think Kia Forte who can offer the same type of specs..but then again..Forte engine..tak payah cerita la..i tested that car..i liked it..but dont have ummphh...Pug 308T was much better..but i am more inclined to get a VW compare to the Lion badge...

i am hoping to be more impressed when i see it at Das Auto...if not..well, i will just get the golf tsi then..LOL

well..we can only know next month...few different SA from different dealers have shared the same timeline with me..

about the engine..i am not an expert like the other sifu in this forum...but bro, what car is always reliable n trouble free lar? even the mers n beemer got issue.. if u find one n at the right price...u should go for it..since that is what u want....

my aim have been continental car this time around..so i do hope i get it by end of next month... biggrin.gif

I have encountered a problem on my RCD 310, where my MDI couldn't detect both my Usb and ipod. It was working fine this morning.  Any ideas or where to start troubleshooting?

TIA.

I had this problem a few weeks back. Strangely after I turned off my engine and turned it on again, everything went back to normal. Hope your fix is as easy as mine!

It's very unlikely you'd be able to secure a unit this year.. Made a booking in early July, still waiting for my car... Scheduled for end of September shipment but haven't received a specific date from my SA yet sad.gif

I had to go to several dealers, even in early July most dealers didnt have stock for the GTi SE until March 2012.. Veemer OKR had a few booking slots open, I initially wanted CSG but no stock, had to settle for CW. Waiting is a pain!!
*
Hey bro, are u expecting your car end of sept?? Which dealer u went for the booking?
I'm waiting for mine too... doh.gif

To all VW kakis, need opinion/advice as i'm buying Gti MK5, its 08 model with a decent mileage. Want to know in terms of the fuel consumption, maintenance, any headache owning this car? Still thinking either Gti mk5 or the golf tsi mk6.. Appreciate any comment. Wanna use it for daily commute to office.

Remember to go early.

I was there about 10.15am and I'm already in the 2nd batch (each batch admits 300 pax only).

Just came back from Das Auto. For those waiting to see the CKD Jetta or the Passat before making a decision today or tomorrow, fat hope! The event was a major disappointment. First of all, you Q for about an hour just to get a number. Then you wait another hour before your number is called! And boy after all that wait, I was hoping to see the big boys up close like the Golf R, Scirocco R, Phaeton and was also hoping to see the CKD models like Passat and Jetta. But all you see are the cars on stage when they were introduced. Never mind, after the stage and video presentation, I head on to the car showroom hoping to see the cars that was introduced "in flesh". But No, the cars displayed there are all the cars that we could see in our local showrooms! Cars displayed were Passat CC, Golf GTI, Polo, Toaureg. Whats the point? It's full of bullshit and I wasted half day there which I could enjoy more testing cars at the showrooms or even sleeping at home! Das Auto? Das waste of time! vmad.gif

Again another failed event from VGM. Yes VW dump a lot of money for this event but visitors need to wait for hours to get in & not to mention it is raining as well.

Exactly. I was hoping to catch a glimpse of certain models up close but its only available on stage, which is the same as sitting in front of your PC looking at shots or videos.

VW has great products which is why their cars are selling so well. And VW has great intentions by trying to make their presence here with all these events. But honestly, the events are so poorly executed by VGM. I can understand the long wait because of the big crowd but at least let us see the cars! Have those cars on stage and also have the same cars in the showroom! We are all there to see models like the new Beetle, Phaeton, R series cars and CKD cars. We drive all the way there and Q 2 hours NOT to see Golf, Polo and Tiguan! VGM reps, if you are reading this, learn from how BMW and Mercedes run their events and launches. You guys are a failure in my opinion. If not for your great cars and technology, VGM would have close shop by now!

Excatly! They are trying to make the event huge, but the showroom can only cater 300pax per session....

Wasted my fuel and 5 minutes parking cost $2.. Good parking bussiness with high turnover...

yes, i was there, i left immediately after seeing 300 ppl in the line, and soon after that, it started to rain.

why queue like this? car selling half price? its just some stupid 200k car, its not like enzo ferrari or what. and its not even a premium brand!

when they let ppl in, they need ppl to go register too, wth. wasted my RM2 parking.

Das stupid and Das disappointing.

this event shows that, they dont freaking care about how you think, just go freaking line up under the sun you poor fellow, and they might as well put the car in the glass box. wish to show the VW guy the middle finger.

never in my life i felt so bs, as if i was going to see a fighter jet or something, but its just a 200k car, and in other country, its just some normal car, like toyota, daihatsu peugeot. no not even like nissan because nissan has GTR to see.

so pissed off.

no test drive, no sitting inside, no go near the car, and what? line up 2 hours to see the car?
