I'm planning to buy a golf gti soon. How long does it usually takes to order the car? I want the red colour latest edition one. My cousin told me the latest edition one comes with led back light and the rim size is 18 instead of 17. Is that true?

Yes that is correct, the latest edition would be the Golf GTI SE and if you book now, from my dealer you should get it around March/April 2012.

No mods available yet but I am sure there will be once it hits the streets wink.gif

The Golf R LED tail lights will definitely not be able to fit onto the Jetta
*
What? That long? sad.gif
And the price is still rm210k?
Hmm but march/april next year is too long i was hoping to get it in next month or november sad.gif
Is it totally impossible to get it sooner? Like, in this year?

It's very unlikely you'd be able to secure a unit this year.. Made a booking in early July, still waiting for my car... Scheduled for end of September shipment but haven't received a specific date from my SA yet sad.gif

I had to go to several dealers, even in early July most dealers didnt have stock for the GTi SE until March 2012.. Veemer OKR had a few booking slots open, I initially wanted CSG but no stock, had to settle for CW. Waiting is a pain!!
*
Hmm i wouldn't want to wait that long. If in december or january 2012 maybe is still ok but march/april? Oh no. Maybe i'll just go for the standard golf gti n change the rim n the light myself later. If i want to buy the standard golf gti, how long would i have to wait after booking?

Someone mentioned there's ready stock for 2010 GTI at RM16k discount. A pretty good deal if you don't mind a car that's been collecting dust in a warehouse for nearly 2 years.
*
That one is mk6 or mk5? what's the difference for the 2010 gti?
And also, where can i find them?

Does anyone knows how is the golf gti 2012 model? Last week when i went to vw showroom the salesman said the 2012 model is like the se model, got sunroof, led light, touchscreen radio, 18 rims n all. So that means mext year the gti se won't be so special anymore right? Since all of them are like that. And he also told me for now the price for se is the same as standard gti which is 210k, but the price might increase next year. But if i book now they'll give me the same price still. So i already booked mine.

Hey Andy! Glad that u booked the gti! Yea actually it is the same if u booked it now or next year. I don't think there will be any replacement yet till the end of 2012. Might be the first quarter of 2013. Just my 2cents... Mine is actually the 2011 se version so yea I think it would be the same base on the spec that u mentioned. May I know what colour did u booked?
*
I wanted the red colour but my mum n grandpa n gf said carbon steel grey is nicer so my mum booked that colour. Then i thought yea ok carbon steel grey is quite nice, but later that day i went to ou n saw 1 gti se red colour i still think i prefer red better. I told my mum n she called the vw salesman, he said its ok i can still change the colour later if i want. But for now its still carbon steel grey.
Really? Because the salesman told me all golf gti 2012 model for april onwards will come with the same spec like the 2011 se

maybe your not used to the acceleration yet.i test drive the golf tsi today and its really something to get use to in terms of fast response acceleration and the hard superb brakes ..the salesgirl was jerking whenever i had a light foot on the brake and hardly even stepping it.and acceleration was way beyond my expectation.really ganas(like pulling u back the seat and asking u to shut up and enjoy the ride feeling).
and then i test drive the polo 1.2 .. honestly cant be compared to a golf tsi.brakes is not as good as golf, acceleration just slightly better then suzuki swift, and can hear the road noise.makes me think twice of getting the polo gti .. it might be a great performance car ,but not comfortable as the golf ..

Added on September 27, 2011, 8:35 pmbtw, the salesperson from wearnes bangsar told me the polo gti might increase the price due to change of tax for next year's batch.so the polo gti booking list for next year might experience a higher price or a lower price.its still uncertain.i didn't know they have this kinda crap goin on.i called other branch at ampang and they said the price is confirmed.i dont know who to believe.

anyways, since the polo gti is powerful but not as comfortable as golf tsi ..and my budget is less then rm140k,the best option is to wait for the upcoming hot kia optima wink.gif wink.gif wink.gif hooraah!
*
U went to wearnes bangsar for test drive? I went there to book my golf gti se too. Yea the salesperson mentioned about the change of tax and interest rate too but she said since i book the car now she'll give me the same price even if the price increases next year.
My opinion, u better just buy golf tsi if u're having second thought about polo gti. U've tested the golf tsi n u're satisfied with the performance n comfortability n all right? U just need to add a bit more n u can get a car that u're really satisfied with. About the kia optima what if after u bought it u still feel unsatisfied n still thinking about golf or the polo gti?
U've wanted the polo gti for a while n now u like golf tsi better, so i think its better if u buy the golf tsi or even polo gti instead of the kia optima. Just my 2 cents smile.gif

Real deal? If so why so cheap? Thought should be around RM300k  hmm.gif

Scirocco R
*
Isn't scirocco r was just launched this year?
And last time i asked even golf r is around rm300k so scirocco r must be higher than that

I'm still in dilemma till now. Already booked my golf gti in carbon steel grey colour but the sa told me i can still change the colour if i want to because the car will only arrive on march/april next year.
Originally i wanted the red colour till i went to the showroom to book the car, my parents said they didn't like red colour it looks cheap. Even my grandpa n my gf didn't like red too all of them prefer carbon steel grey so i ended up booking that colour.
I think its quite nice too but i still like red better. But what to do my dad said i can book the car but with one condition, NO RED. Haih. White is nice too but too many people r already using white its already too common n both of my cousins r already driving white golf gti too so i don't want to buy the same colour again. Then, my uncle who's the father of my cousins that are driving the 2 white golf gtis told me red is nicer n asked me to buy red, even he already booked one more scirocco red colour for my other cousin. He said red look sportier n is more suitable for me since i'm just 23 he said carbon steel grey is for older people, which i think is quite true too.
So now i dont know which colour should i actually choose. Whether red or carbon steel grey, or black which i think is nice too. What do u guys think? Which colour is better? Because u guys have more experience seeing golf gti in those colours in person

Oh so most of u guys think carbon steel grey is nicer? I dont know much because i haven't seen a golf gti in that colour in person yet. Yea i'm gona change the rear light to golf r led light too later. Hmm what about black? I think black looks nice too but my current car is already black. I don't want white or silver. I know i dont want to regret later thats why i'm havjng this big dilemma now sweat.gif

If it were me, i'd go for golf tsi smile.gif
Then if u like u can change to bigger rim, rear led light, bodykits n others later so it would look morelike a golf gti.
But its still up to u which one u think u like better
