Went to watch rocco R cup at sepang (VIP invitation) just now and manages to test drive the polo gti. The actual car very nice and powerful like golf gti biggrin.gif the Polo GTI abit bumpy compare with golf gti...

I heard from the crew there is an accident during test drive session(rocco)...the female customer test drive the rocco and bang divider. All the airbags pop up and the customer (rear passanger) suffer injuries and send to nearest hospital..Hope she recover soon smile.gif

Kesian the rocco sad.gif

Unless if you have a VIP ticket it is worth to go to sepang to catch a glimpse of the polo gti or even test drive it. If what you have just the normal complimentary grand stand ticket, don't waste your time. You only get to see it in toy car size from opposite. Test drive or close view only or VIP.

Wasted my 2 hours of my precious weekend and 100km mileage today.
Went over only to know that we can only access the grand stand and just "look" from there. Not even a locked polo gti for a simple glimpse.

Disappointed with VW for a poorly run event.
Definitely kill my interest now. They really shouldn't publicize the event as if an open event and encourage public with interest of Polo GTI to drop by Sepang. Even SA do not have clear info on the run down of the event in Sepang. Wonder what's the VWM doing! Disappointed!

Wow sounds like an eventful day at the test track today. How was it like driving the Polo GTI on Sepang?

This is what I hope too. Seems VWM is not keen to share this polo with the public yet.
Very nice car from VW but it's a poorly run event by VW Malaysia though... (unless you are invited VIP)

Seriously it totally killed my interest getting a VW now...

Worst than any event run by even Protong can do better...

Well sources say that its because there is a global shortage of Polo GTI so if they try to push it out a lot, they might not be able to cater for the demand.

i had the same experience. went to Sepang today with the impression that at least they will have an actual unit for the public to view, although not for test drive. was sitting at the grandstand for 3 hours watching the Carreras and Sciroccos doing their qualifying/practice laps and VIPs test driving the Polo GTI for 3 laps in between.

but am lucky to have arrange to have a test drive session tomorrow with my SA. assume it's outside the circuit. will share the bits and pieces of the test drive session tomorrow.

btw@yan now i know why you eager to move to rocco 2.0, seriously damn syok weh. sedap feeling when i took it for test drive.

MY SA offered me a VIP ticket today (but test drive already fully booked) but after hearing the delivery will be at least early next year, I called off my plan to Sepang. VW is getting snobbish, this I do agree. Despite so many complaint on their service centers, yet so many people flock to buy their cars despite no additional promotion on discount and etc specials.

Thanks for the info. I've been hearing stories like this and just wanted to confirm with people that it is true. Looks like I should stay away from VW Malaysia since from the time u step into the showroom until the time u send your car for service u will get into problems. Its a pity...their cars are good but the ppl who bring it in here are crap..sigh
