Guys can help me on overclocking AMD Athlon 64 x2 4600 (Brisbane)?
I'm stuck at 225Mhz (CPU base clock). I even tried overvolting it from 1.35V to 1.37V but at Prime 95 it just crash the whole thingy. I have a Hyper 212 Evo with Dual Fan setup and the temp (Full Load) only hits 50 Celcius w/o OC. This post has been edited by LBYuan: Dec 12 2011, 06:15 PM |

@LBYuan
once u increase the HTT, not only the cpu speed will increase, HT link and ram speed also will increase together So try to lower down the multiplier of HT link and ram divider 1st. and increase the htt back and OC even its easy, you still need to have some knowledge. 1.7v is too much already. even 1.5v i wont recommend for long run. |

Btw I reduced HTT from auto to x3 but it crashes also Is it my mobo and processor doesn't support OC? |

HTT = bclck HT link = hyperstransport that connects the components of the mainboard already reduce the ram divider? just noticed your mainboard is nvidia 61. my nvdia 61 chipset cant go above 215Mhz HTT |

no offence but to oc with ecs low end board is not really a good choice to start with. am no expert so what i do is always follow what d expert use (ofkos of what i can afford lah). back then ta690g was a hit, so i got myself one & still happy with my choice.

actually what matter most is d board. pop a lemon chip onto a decent board, u mite still be able to squeeze some MHz outta it, pop a decent chip onto a crappy board & u get close to nothing...
